This is an easy to use and very effective sharpening device. It is easy to use and I’ve never cut myself using it. The first one I bought had one of the diamond infused metal plates become detached from its plastic base. I’m a full time chef, I use knife sharpening tools often and this didn’t not last me through the busy tourist season. It’s very small, which I thought I would like, but it was too small to safely sharpen a full sized prep or chef knife. I think this sharpener was meant for sparing use on small knives such as pocket/hunting knives. Definitely not for cooks by trade. 😝 ... show more
