These are high quality well made shears. Sectioning poultry, even heavy grade, is easy. I offer one item of caution. The return spring which opens the shears is small in diameter and easy to lose. Don’t disassembled in or over a sink that doesn’t have a debris screen. Other than that I would definitely recommend these for anyone looking for a durable pair of kitchen shears. ... show more

We process all our own meat here on our farm, and any game animals that we also get. We use all professional gear and these shears are AMAZING! We usually use cleavers, or a bone saw for the ribs, but we hate the bone chips that come along with that enterprise. A meat bandsaw is just not in the cards for us, but these shears are truly the thing to have, and no bone chips or dust that even a bandsaw would leave. It also does not take the strength of Hercules to use them, which for this little old lady is quite an improvement over the last set of meat shears I had. These work well for heavy duty work, cutting the backs out of chicken, but not so much for fine work. I use another pair of shears when parting out chicken to cut small bits.

I bought this to replace an old pair of kitchen scissors that had become dull and not effective. Wow. This works; it feels balanced in my hand and is easy to use. I really like the little clip that holds the blades together to store it. The blades cut nicely with no tearing of whatever I'm cutting. It says it's dishwasher safe, but so far I've just handwashed it. The blades come apart and go back together easily. It is so much better than my old pair!
