Fun bug hotel. Has a variety of mediums to appeal to many types of bugs. Though I haven't actually seen any in mine yet even after being out for months. Lots of bright colors, so a fun addition to the garden. But it doesn't feel very sturdy so I don't know how well it will weather over time. It is helpful in attracting several types of insects, butterflies, bees, ladybugs, and others. It is approximately 8.5”x5.5”x2.5”. All of the materials are inside, and with the metal roof, it stays dry and protected against the weather. There are 6 sections for hibernation, egg laying, or sleeping, each having its own material: bamboo sticks, pine cones, saw dust, drilled blocks, and wood chips. This is a great bee house. It is well-made and sturdy, and it provides a variety of nesting options for different types of pollinating insects. I've had it in my garden for a few a while now, and I'm already seeing bees and ladybugs using it, and I can use the ladybugs for pests in my garden. I am very happy with this, and I would definitely recommend this product to other homeowners. However, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, the house is quite large, so make sure you have enough space for it in your garden. This Mason Bee house is made with good intentions and is very cute. However, the tubes need to be much longer for Mason Bees to lay their eggs. This house is only 3 inches deep, which is not enough room for them. If you should decide to try this house, be sure to read the helpful pamphlet included in the box. The roof on this house doesn't offer much protection from the rain, so place your house beneath the eaves of your own home to keep these bees dry. ... show more

One important thing to note is that the recommended time to mount these pollinating homes is in Spring.
