  • Camping Hammock with Mosquito Net and Rain Fly - Can't be more perfect! Durable & versatile.
Color: Black
After reading and researching hammocks with mosquito nets, I'm so glad I ended up getting this one. Can't say enough good things about it. Very durable, very light weight, simple to set up and simple to use. Not to mention comfortable and easy to re-pack. So far I've used this on my sailboat, outside and inside. I've set it up as a hammock as well as a stand alone "tent". I hate insects, and I can't comfortably sleep well if there's a possibility of an insect crawling on me in the middle of the night. So this net, along with the optional rain cover is absolutely a perfect package. Setting it up as a hammock is just as easy as soon as you know what to do and have set it up initially. Once you have to system down it's simple to set up and take down. As far as it being a tent, all I did was get some 3/4" PVC piping and created a simple box frame to place inside it. I'm 5'9 so all I needed was a 6 foot by 20 inch frame. Not sure if it will accommodate a larger frame, but you can definitely make a larger one and use the frame on the outside. There are loops on the outside of the net to be able to hang the net over you as you lay on the ground. As with any boat, water is inevitable inside or out, and after this getting a little wet (because I left one of the windows open, it dries just as quick. As far as packing up, so simple to take apart, fold a couple times widthwise and then just roll it up tightly, then stuff it in the attached pouch (that will never be lost because it's sewn on). Overall a great product. One of those things I would buy again if I ever lost this one. Definitely recommend! ... show more

  • Comfy hammock
Bought this for a recent camping trip and was not disappointed. It was my first time hammock camping so I didn't know what to expect, but I found this easy to set up and and very comfortable. I lined it with my little inflatable sleeping pad and had a 3 great nights of sleep. The first night there were two rain storms and I stayed completely dry! The bug net portion initially took some adjusting to get it up the way I wanted, but now that I know how to space the cords it will be a quick set up next time. I am 5'11" and got the double. I had lots of head and leg room, almost too much; I think I could have gotten the single and been just fine. The walls did come up pretty high on either side, making it a little cocoon-like. But I found that if I laid my sleeping pad on the diagonal, the whole thing was much flatter. My only con about this hammock is that mosquitoes could bite through, but I was also in Northern Wisconsin where the mosquitoes are the alpha predator. I don't think it's bad material though, I've had that happen in other hammocks. Overall I think the quality is great, straps are sturdy and it's good value for money. ... show more

  • Great little starter bundle
This was a gift for my son's birthday (his special request). He was very excited to recieve it. He's grown to the point that he's ready to be out of our shared hiking tent (getting a LITTLE cramped in there, as he's almost a teenager now). We have a trip planned this weekend to put it to the real test, but of course, we did the trial run at home, went through the process so he understands set up and tear down responsibilities of his own gear, and so we could go over the stitching and make sure everything looks safe. It DOES appear well constructed. It FEELS very secure once set up. He took an extended nap in it yesterday and I noticed he made a big position change mid nap (from stomach to back) and had no problems in either position, but most adults like me would probably be more comfortable to insert a sleeping pad to prevent any of the typical extra strain. The netting is well stitched, double zippered on both sides for ease of use and is effective at preventing the mosquitoes we have in abundance (and I'm sure will keep ticks out as well). I do have one con I see, that an adult might find more bothersome than a kid out kammocking with this: the webbing loops for the guy lines on the netting are about two feet apart (parallel) in three sets across the top of the hammock. This effectively leaves a bunch of fabric in between those two loops that can not do much but hand down into the sleepers face. I think the manufacturer could easily resolve this by simply modifying to add a center loop to hold the Ridgeline of the netting up away from the camper. That aside, the modification will be easy enough for me to do at home if my son decides it's bothersome for him. The tree straps are a fantastic inclusion at this price point (truly, this price point, being ALL inclusive, I doubt you can find anything comparable with this quality). The rain fly/tarp is actually bigger than it seems in the sales photos, and while we haven't had a good rain to test yet, it does appear that it'll work great, and there is definitely enough coverage to keep a camper dry all around and even to leave some space for a seat, or a cook stove, etc under the tarps cover as well. This is certainly NOT the lightest weight set on the market. But you will not get true ultralight at this price point.....however, it's definitely lighter than what I lump around (two person ultralight 4 season tent, by about half the weight). I'll be happy to see both of my young ones in their own hammocks eventually, carrying their own gear weight, so I can do a much needed down size to by bag weight as well. I'd like to add, my son thinks this is the best thing since sliced bread. He's incredibly happy with this gift. At 12 he's almost able to do the complete set up on his own, but he struggles with doing knots well, so can't finish off the screening and tarp set up without assistance. It goes up in a matter of minutes, take down is just as easy (and frankly, easier than trying to roll up a tent just the right size to get back into a stuff sack). My daughter saw hers, and thinks she might be ready to move on to one of these also, so fingers crossed I'll be purchasing another one in the near future, and finally able to have my own sleeping space on the trail. ... show more

  • Better than expected but room for improvement.
It arrived today and I set it up in my yard to check it for issues and set it up for use camping. The hammock is pretty well put together. It has a quality feel to it. The tree straps were a nice bonus. Right out of the box, my biggest complaint would be how the mosquito net is set up. It has two lines to thread through three nylon eyes on each side. The center of the net sags pretty low into the hammock. It could use a few spreaders to keep the net's shape and pick up the bulk of material out of the sleeping area. Or another set of eyes down the center and another piece of cordage to hold up the slack netting. Aside from that, the hammock is really nice. The rain fly is much bigger than I expected! I am very pleased with the tarp. It's proper square so can be used in a multitude of configurations. It has eight eyelets along the edges plus one in the middle. It came with four good quality stakes and six lengths of cordage. I would liked to have had another two stakes and a single, longer piece of cordage for a ridgeline. All in all, I am so far very happy with this purchase. Looking forward to using it on a camping trip soon. ... show more
