Before I got this skateboard, I knew nothing about skateboards, trucks, or bushings. So, I read up on what makes a good skateboard before I wrote my Review. The first thing to look for is the quality of the wood on the skateboard deck. Most skateboards are made of layers of wood, usually either maple or bamboo. A good skateboard will be light but durable and flexible. This model from EASYGO is made of “engineered wood” – as are many wood products today. I’m not sure if engineered wood is the best material for a skateboard, but it’s a kid’s board - and not something that Tony Hawk will be using in competition. But the board material seems solid to me. Second, a good skateboard has quality wheels. The wheels on this are large and appear to be made of polyurethane which are, per my cursory research, a good material for wheels. Third, you need quality “trucks.” Trucks are the two T-shaped parts found under the deck that attach to the wheels. The Amazon page says this skateboard comes with 3.5” skateboard trucks that are rugged and durable. They seem so to me. Fourth, you need good “bushings” which are the rubbery things that attach to the main part of the board – there is an upper and lower bushing (I think they’re yellow in the Amazon photo). These are usually made of polyurethane and help to determine how easy it is to pivot and turn on your board. The bushings on the EASYGO appear to be polyurethane or some type of hard plastic. Unfortunately, the product description doesn’t provide all the details of materials. Once again, however, it’s a kid’s skateboard & not intended for professionals. The product does seem well built to me. The board has a good grip for the kids to hang on and to easily maneuver around on the cement. The parts underneath (i.e. trucks and bushings) also look fine to me. The top of the deck is completely covered with “grip bumps” for good control of the skateboard by the kid. The kids really like the color. The teal and orange colors with a small splash of black and white make the board very cool. The colors are embedded into the wood which makes the graphics scratch free and, I assume, longer lasting. The large wheels seem to make it easy for the smaller kids to pivot and maneuver on the board. As beginners, they’re still not very good at it but I figure that’s what a kid’s skateboard is for – to learn and to develop motor skills. If I didn’t get all the details exactly right about skateboards, excuse me as I am still learning, just as the kids are learning how to ride it. They expend a lot of energy and seem to have a lot of fun (and sleep a lot better after all that exercise!). ALWAYS make sure they’re using safety helmets! The only disappointment we’ve had is that we just can’t get the wheels to light up. Other reviews say they do, so maybe we’ll stumble on the solution. If we figure it out, I’ll update this Review. Overall, I think this is a pretty good kid’s skateboard. The price seems reasonable compared to other boards of this quality. The kids have had a lot of fun with it so far - and it sure burns up a lot of energy. ... show more

This skateboard is perfect for anyone trying to learn. It's a good size for kids - easy to place feet securely on the board and the wheels have good glide to them. Very well made, trucks are strong and the entire board is built well and feels safe.

I do not know a whole lot about skate boards, but I do know that my nephew loves it. He is 9 years old and I feel like it is the perfect size for him. The board itself feels very strong and I even like the colors of the board. The wheels seem to be very durable. They are made to feel very sticky/grippy. The skateboard also rides very smoothly. My nephew absolutely loves it and he says that he would not change a thing. It is perfect for him and he says that any kid would be crazy not to love it. ... show more

This board brings me right back to my childhood days looking like its right out of Dogtown. The material and colors are done just like they were back in the day. The size is great for smaller kids and allows for learning to ride and carve. My wheels never lit up, so I don't know what that's about, but I took a star away for that. My nephew has been riding this HARD for a couple months now and it is just as good as day one. I completely recommend it and would order it again with zero hesitation. ... show more

i grew up with poly boards in the late 70's / early 80's, so i wanted the Boy to see how WE had to learn, hahah - solid retro style, solid, decent trucks and yeah, pretty hard wheels but that's seeming to be the norm. HE likes it for messing around in the driveway, he won't say it out loud but I'm pretty sure it's giving him new respect for the "Ol man, hahhaha. AGAIN - this is a smaller, retro-design board. If You have a kid that's learning, go with a more modern, wider deck with wider trucks because these old things were a real trick to learn how to ride, all things compared. ... show more

It's a starter board for kids. This isn't a full length or width board for adults, and they state that exactly in the ad. So this is great for my single digit kiddos that are not too big but ready to learn skateboarding basics.. It has a hardened grip on the face of the board. The wheels are a nice wide strong but flexible rubber (which does help obsorb bumps) and roll very smooth and quiet on the ground with a nice wide wheel base. On the ad it says the wheels light up when they spin, but they do not. It looks like there could be mini LED lights on the wheels, but it's just the design of the inner wheel. The center bushing for each truck is pretty stiff, but to me that should be expected for the kids learning. It just is a bit stiff to do much turning on it, but that could get more flexible over time with some rougher usage. I can't give it any less than 5 stars in my opinion, because it is nearly exactly as advertised for who it is for and how it looks and its size. The only flaw in the ad that I saw is the wheels do not light up. This would make a great gift for an active kid around the 8 yerar old and older range. My 8 year old loves it. ... show more

I don’t skateboarding so I don’t know so much about it. I bought this one for my youngest daughter. It feels durable to me. Even when I stand on it, it didn’t shake or feel weak.
