It seems that there are many options and the quality varies widely but it looked like this was a good one for a 6 year old just starting. I was very pleasantly surprised when at the birthday party where we gave this to my granddaughter her aunt who is a skater said it was a very nice quality and much nicer board than a beginner needs. The media could not be loaded. Got this for my 8yo. Seems to hold up well. Although there is some weird squeaky crunch noise, but hopefully that will go away with some tweaking with the tools it came with.
