This is my second keystone..my other one is in the bedroom.bought it three years ago and it’s great…gets room very cold..older one is a little noisy but for me I like it ,it drowns out the street noise. I installed this in a South-facing upstairs bedroom which was getting to 77F on very hot days; my house AC works but this room is the end of the duct line and covering other vents in my house was not having much effect. I installed it in about 90 minutes and now, I pick the temperature on the remote and it gets me there in a short time. It's very slightly noisier than I'd like - I measured 50 dBA from 6 ft away on the low fan setting - but I reckon I could sleep with it in the room and it's mainly in the daytime that I need it. I looked at a similar 8,000 BTU portable AC in CostCo that was $350 and then bought this for <$200. An absolute keeper and great value. ... show more

Got to supplement my central AC in my bedroom only on the hottest of Southern day. Got it out of the box and all installed super easy. Turned it on and after reading the manual got it to the coldest, highest setting. Didn’t seem very cold or strong but ok, gave it a chance. It ran all night and all the next day, bedroom was 86 when I got home. Same issues, the output is neither cold or strong. I will add that for the last unit, when placed at the end of the bed, the spot I sleep got a nice, cool breeze. Nothing with this one even when I tried to put a fan in front to blow the cold air further. Packed it up to send it back! ... show more

Works well and has significantly cooled the area in which it was installed in less than 24 hours. The most difficult part is getting the exhaust hose connected properly in the window. I had to improvise as none of the listed foam was in the box. Also missing drain hose and screws. Surprised at how quiet it operates. Hoping customer service will send missing parts. ... show more

Simple and easy to install. Yes it's not included all hardware but you will figure out what you need to do. My sleep is so good after I bought it. Air blow is strong and cold. I'm not sure how long it lasting. But it worked out for my need.

    • Great Option for AirConditioning/Heat Combo Unit

I bought this because my HVAC unit wasn’t cooling and the repair company couldn’t get to my home for over a week. I am pleasantly surprised by1) the cooling and heating capacity of this unit 2) the quiet operation 3) and the out of the box/plug in, set, ready go. It can cools a large space in the home, larger than specified especially if you have an open floor plan. In a closed room/ bedroom, it’s superior also. Unit comes pre assembled with rollers already attached for easy access movement through the house. The only challenge I had is fitting the window kit into my area. Even with the window kit challenge, I give it 5 stars and I ordered another unit to use at relative’s home, with their generator, to plug in during storms and power outages! They even specially designed the shipping box, so there is no heavy lifting at all! Once you untape the box it lifts completely from the bottom so you don’t have to tip the unit or lift it at all. You just roll it right out and place in corner, near a window to vent through the precut vent kit hole! I like this unit!! Great buy, can be used for many purposes! Buy it! ... show more

Instructions on installing the window piece could have been more specific and descriptive. All the accessories were missing except the exhaust tube and window panel. No screws/insulation foam, or security brackets were included.
