I have this heater in a 12 foot by 14 foot, screened porch. It is mounted above the screen windows, so about 7.5 feet from the floor. It is not intended to make everyone toasty warm, but to knock off the chill on days the outside temps are slightly less than comfortable for sitting outside. It works very well, but a single heater does leave cold spots, so I will need another one (or another two) for better coverage throughout the screened porch. The heater has three heat settings… 500 Watts, 1000 Watts and 1500 Watts. The media could not be loaded. It worked pretty well for a couple of months. I used it inside the entire time. I live in Texas, so it wasn’t cold after March. Just pulled it back out today, and the switch doesn’t work. It was making a crunchy sound, and it won’t click all the way or stay on. I took the panel off near the switch and found out the soldering for the wires wore down. The switch itself is broken though. This is an excellent heater. Has 500, 1000 and 1500 watt output. The instructions, however, are worthless as to operation. Here's what you need to know for using the heater. Toggle the black switch on the side of the unit to on position. (Leave it on all the time.) A red light will switch on at the front right side of the unit. Then using the remote, turn on the unit and select the desired output. The heater will turn on with a green light on the front right side of the unit. Works great; heats up fast. When you want to turn off the heater, use the remote to switch it off. Caution using two units on the same circuit. If they are both on using 1000 watts, you may trip your circuit. ... show more

No big problem but the hardware was missing. I have extra bolts, screws and tools to install the heater. It has a good heat output for our 10’ x 12’ tuff shed in Siuthern Arizona. It heats the space quickly.

I’ve had this for over a year now. Used it for 1 winter and currently in the 2nd winter. I used it in my garage so I wouldn’t say I used it heavily. Writing this review 10 minutes after I tried to turn it on. I always unplugged it when I was done using it. I NEVER used the toggle switch to power it on. The toggle switch has broken. It doesn’t click when pushed so it won’t stay in the on position. I never liked how it would only work with the remote control. Always had to search for the remote. This is the 2nd unit I got. Same issues with both units. After a week or 2, the heating element goes out. Fixture still turns on, but the heating element doesn't. This is very frustrating, the first time it happened I was willing to try again. The second time it happened, I am not willing to try again. Heater was used for a small patio, maybe 10' by 4'. Heater was only used for 30 minutes to an hour at a time. We were so excited, and disappointed when it failed again. I would not buy again. ... show more
