I chose just because sometimes I just need a tarp, and my husbands are all nasty or torn. I was impressed with the thickness of this, and the size I chose is huge! Currently the start is being used to protect my parents two recliners, and it could definitely fit an additional two. The material is very strong and the grommets seem secure. I would have no issue using this as a temporary covering over a deck to provide shade for the summer, to use with gardening, to cover loads, it even seems heavy enough to use to cover a shed roof temporarily. I only stay shed because it's not big enough for a whole house, but it would definitely cover our garden shed. There are two sides, a blue and a green. I am not sure if there's any difference or just choose the outer side according to your coloring preference. There are so many uses, and I'm afraid my husband is going to claim it from me! This tarp is very nice. Heavy duty and thick. The brass grommets are also nice and solid. The one downside of being a heavy duty tarp is that its pretty heavy. The 12x16 size is nice for moving leaves or covering firewood, items on a trailer. etc.

I usually try to start with some disadvantages in my reviews, but I don't see any with this tarp. Has a pretty heavy weight to it as it is 16 ml. I bought it for a metal pole Style car canopy replacement. Has a decent amount of grommets. It's size seems to work well. At around $40 it's decently priced. Didn't get any holes while putting it up and since it's been up in the Sun for several weeks it still doesn't have any holes. It is definitely rainproof. Overall this makes a great replacement for a car canopy or other uses. It's also nice and thick so the wind doesn't tear it if it's tied down with the grommets. ... show more

This 16 mil thick tarp is EXACTLY what we needed for work around the property. The tarp is green on one side, and blue on the other, which is nice to have both options available, depending on your needs. I looked specifically at the grommets, to make sure those were reinforced, and they are supported by a metal reinforced grommet on the outside edge of the tarp. I have a wooded property in Louisiana (home to sun, rain, and wind) and I often have used tarps to protect items from exposure to the weather. This tarp is equal to the best ones I have owned. As the product description notes, it has a sturdy weight, fabric reinforcement, ample grommets with very sturdy corner reinforcements, and a cord along the rim. The dark green side blends in well with the woods, and the blue side can keep your roof looking just like your neighbors after a hurricane (dark humor, but anyone on the Gulf Coast would understand). Great, truly thick tarp. This is heavy weight and is not something I would expect to shred. We used it as a tent pad underneath a 9x10 tent, and had no qualms about the rocky, twig filled landscape. The tarp survived and washed up to be good as new.
