  • Good reciever at an affordable price.
Style: Digital Media Reciever
I replaced a factory head unit with this and paired it with a wireless android auto dongle and everything works great. The USB port is in the back side so you can hide a wireless dongle behind the dash and have the same functionality as a more expensive reciever for significantly less money. Sound quality is great and the UI is easy to use. The only complaint I have is that the touch screen does lag a tiny bit. ... show more

  • Welcome to the 2020s!
Style: Digital Media Reciever
Upgraded my 2012 Nissan Altima stock radio with this one and it is amazing. There was plenty of info on YouTube about the car and the stereo that, for the first time, I was comfortable installing my own car audio. Having CarPlay is amazing. I also just got the SyncKid iPhone Wireless CarPlay Adaptor and that is a great addition -- you don't even have to take your phone out of your pocket when you get in the car. I highly recommend that one if you're going to upgrade your stereo to have CarPlay. Only downside is that the FM radio is not great and there are some stations that I used to be able to get that I no longer get. HOWEVER, most of them have their own apps and you can put that on CarPlay and just listen through the app, so not taking a star away for that. ... show more

  • Worth the money.
Style: Digital Media Reciever
First of all, the quality of the product is solid of course. I recommend this product 100%. The value is right. Android auto worked well though some cords will not work. This issue isn't the case with apple. The touch screen is similar to my phone's in terms of sensitivity and the os is snappy and responsive and lacks that cheap, off brand, toy like asthetic thats common in radios in such a cheap price range and I've had no issues with glitching. The screen casting for android also works well and allows you to control the phone through the radio screen similar to a tablet. An issue you will note is that with no physical buttons, it can be in safe and sometimes difficult to adjust the volume. The "buttons" for adjusting volume and going to the main screen on the side aren't really buttens, the "touch sensors" are small have no texture so it can be hard to differentiate what button is which while driving. I'd definitely recommend buying a steering wheel remote because that volume knob will be missed. ... show more

  • Must need for an older vehicle!!!
Style: Digital Media Reciever
Absolutely worth the money. Easy to install. Apple Car Play and Android auto is done through your charger wire but sound quality amazing with stock speakers. You do need to bypass the parking brake wire by crimping a ring connector and screwing it to a screw on the radio to use the car play. Very clean design. On the Chevy Tahoe paired with a Crux interface metra dash kit it a great set up. The USB wire is already extended so need to buy an extension. Bluetooth is great and downloads your contacts to call through the radio itself. But once you use the car play and auto youll see you will enjoy using that more than the Bluetooth. At first it is difficult when you're in the initialize process but after a while it works amazing!! ... show more

  • DO NOT BUY!
Style: Digital Media Reciever
This stereo has caused me a headache. The volume randomly turns up all the way while I'm driving very often. Like every 10 seconds. Good way to blow your speaker/subs. The buttons are laggy to the point where you press next track, and it takes about 3 seconds to register. You want to skip ahead 10 songs? takes about 30 seconds to do so and good luck with the touch screen that has too many un unnecessary buttons close together. You try to press a button and next thing you know you're in the screen to choose another phone to connect to. Volume buttons are also touch and very small. Every time I come to a red light i have to tap tap tap tap to run the music down very slowly instead of just turning a volume knob which takes a split second. The other older Kenwood in my other car is great, which is why I bought this one, but never again. learned my lesson. Seriously look elsewhere for a stereo! ... show more

  • Nice Stereo for the price, but some issues/limitations
Style: Digital Media Reciever
I bought this to replace an older Kenwood I installed in my Corvette several years ago. After doing months of research, I decided on going with one that did not have GPS/Maps built in and choose this one. I am not a professional installer, however, I have installed a dozen or more stereos in various vehicles. That being said, here are some of the issues I found with this one: 1) Android Drive is a disappointment. The interface is slow and lacking in some areas. The slowness I contribute to this head unit. Where I find it lacking is when trying to use the Spotify app; you can control some of the features, but you cannot start/stop songs or got the next/previous one; you must use your connected device to this. I tried using the three different devices with the same results. 2) Slow response. Whren you want to change between functions (from bluetooth to radio, from current screen to setup, etc.), there is a significant lag. I installed a different model Kenwood in my Camaro and the response is almost immediate when you press a 'button'; with this one you have to wait. 3) Only One Bluetooth device. You can only connect one bluetooth device at time. I use a dedicated MP3 with Spotify for all my music and like to simultaenoulsy have it, along with my phone connected to the stereo during road trips. The units im my other vehicles all allow for this; however, this one does not. Overall, the sound quality is good and, if all you are looking for is basic functionality, this is a decent head unit. ... show more
