I saw someone say this was cheaply made. Not so! It is a lightweight chair. Something I needed badly as I'm struggling to pull the old one into the car nowadays. This chair is perfect! I had polio as a baby and cannot stand or walk. My chair is my legs. I require something dependable. This chair is it! I added the tip bars at the back and chose swing-away removable footrests but chose molded armrests that don't move as I put a great pressure on them while lifting myself to dress or transfer. The chair came with padded upholstery and ergonomic that make it very comfortable and since I'm sitting from 5 a.m. until I go to bed at night, this too is important. Another feature that came with the chair was brake handles that fold! I've never seen this before. It's a wonderful feature! When I I'm doing laundry, cooking or cleaning, I need to be able to roll all the way up to cabinets or machines. I move my legs out of the way, fold the breaks down and press them forward under my legs to apply them fully. It works great! I have had my chair now for a couple of months and I love it. I am so thankful to have it. I highly recommend the Carmen S-115 25 lb ultralight ergonomic wheelchair. As with any wheelchair, it is important to use grabbers instead of Reaching Forward for things because overreaching and / or putting extra pressure into the footrests can cause the chair to tip forward. The Karman S-Ergo115 chair is absolutely terrific! It arrived with incredible speed, and was very easy to assemble. The fit and finish on this chair are extraordinarily good. It's as well designed and constructed as any wheelchair I have ever seen, and is amazingly light weight. The quick release wheels pop off with the touch of a button, allowing the chair to be stowed easily in the back seat of our car. In fact, the size is so compacted when prepared for travel that two S-Ergo115s will fit into the back seat. While most wheelchairs have the dark gloomy look of something belonging to a hospital or nursing home, the shiny Rose Red S-Ergo115 is ready to proudly roll down the road in a parade. All in all a good wheelchair. Light but sturdy, easy to collapse and unfold, solid brakes. The one complaint I have is that there is a black velcro strap that is supposed to keep the occupants feet from falling back off the footrests, and unfortunately it gets in the way when folding the footrests up temporarily and it does not allow the entire foot rest arms to be folded outward out of the way without taking the strap off. Being aluminum, the chair is easier to fold up and store in the car trunk. Using a pad it is comfortable to sit in all day. I would recommend using Loc-Tite on all screws on the left side as they work loose. (My only complaint) Right side screws do not work loose.

    • Not a smooth ride

Firstly, they shipped through UPS and UPS lost the chair - took me 2 days to get them to actually look for it and they delivered it late because of that, so if you have issues with UPS delivering to you house, beware. It's fairly comfortable to sit in, but the plastic sides under the arms dig into my thighs, and I wouldnt call this chair "ergonomic" at all. The back also digs in underneath my shoulder blades and Im an average height of 5'7". The ride is pretty rough and wobbly for the cost and it's hard to push. (this is my first wheelchair, so my review is per my current experience as a new wheelchair user) I will say that it isnt too difficult to turn, but dont think for a second that it rolls straight either. The caster wheels catch on literally every crack in the sidewalk - and the sidewalk itself is hard to roll on as well. I did a lot of research on this chair, and currently, Im pretty disappointed that I chose this one. It'll do for the rare times that I need to use it while I save up for a custom chair. Overall, I would only recommend this chair if you only need it sporadically. ... show more

If you have no legs, this is the wheel chair for you!!! If you have legs, amputate them and you will be very pleased-the seat is very comfortable for a wheel chair. I am a 6 foot tall man. As evidenced in the attached photos, the legs on the chair are a SOLID 6 inches or MORE TOO SHORT. You will also see from the photos that this cannot be fixed when trying to adjust the legs. When removing the bolt to lengthen the legs, they are 6” too short. I spent 2 weeks in ICU after two surgeries-one foot surgery and one abdomen surgery. After 2 weeks staring at this chair waiting to get out of bed I finally got dropped into the chair by a lift. I cannot adequately tell you how disappointed I was. The only solution, which is neither safe nor effective, is to place a king size pillow under the calves and turn the foot rest out. For $700 you do not expect this issue. If you have no legs, this chair is perfect for you. It is solid, well made, and comfortable. If you have legs, and are over 5’6”, buy a different chair: this one will be useless. ... show more

I got this for my bf cause his insurance company is dragging their feet to get him his other chair. Now this chair I think would be good for a normal person's use. Not an extremest like he is. The outdoors people would have a limit of what they can do on their own. But over all the chair is put together well, and it came quick. The only complaint he had is arm rest don't come off. It's light enough for him to get it in his truck, he fell once because he forgot back rest had to come up and he flipped. He did have some difficulty getting back in but him self because well it's a new chair and he had to find grab pots so it's not tippy. Other then that great buy for what your getting. ... show more
