Once kitty finally discovered this perch, it's been his primary sleeping spot. It looks nice and feels sturdy and the price was right. Here is a little advice for installing. I used the screw-in method (as opposed to the self-adhesive Velcro option), and made a mistake. I placed the top plastic frame flush against the window, got it all perfectly and securely screwed into the windowsill, legs perfectly positioned, ready to add foam cushion and cover. Then I realized I could not put on the fleece cover because there was no space between the plastic frame and the window to tuck in the cover on that side. I wound up having to re-do the installation moving forward about 3/4 of an inch so as to give room for applying the fleece cover all the way around, and also had to re-position the "legs." So, the moral of the story is, don't install the top frame (the part that holds the cushion) too close against the window side. One more thing, from the Amazon online image I thought the "legs" were made of wood, but they are not. They are ivory plastic. Also, there is a rubber company logo tag permanently sewn to the fleece cover. I am not too picky about that, but some people might be, so I thought I'd mention it. ... show more

I purchased this because my cat was always sitting on top of my desk while I was trying to work so she can see out the window. Since we bought this, she stays off my desk and on the Perch. I just put two of these up today and I could not be happier!!! I used the velcro and based on a review I read I decided to also use two large Command velcro strips and it works great! The tiger cat in the pictures is 19 lbs and the perch didn’t budge! Love, love, love!!!

I just recently moved from a 2 bedroom apartment to a 3 bedroom house so I only had 2 perches mounted but I have 3 cats. I'm on the lake now and I just purchased a 3rd perch so my cats can watch all the deer and other wildlife on the lake side of the house. The window ledges on the apartment windows were very narrow, so I had to mount the perch 180 degrees out on the opposite edge of where the screw holes were. So I ended up gluing them with E6000 to make them stay because they kept falling and would not stay with velcro. At the new house, I can mount them properly with velcro (16 pound) and I shore it up by adding duck tape from the mounted frame of the perch to the window frame and it supports their weight quite adequately....hope this helps... ... show more

Two nice window perches for my cats. Sturdy, for plastic. I used screws to attach to the window sill. Three stars because the fleece cover and the foam padding smelled so bad, the cats left the perch in seconds. They have a horrible chemical smell. I washed the fleece covers three times and aired outdoors all day. I also washed the foam pads. They both still smell! I plan to make my own covers to replace them. WHY do manufacturers accept all the chemicals on these fabrics as the norm? They take time and effort to make something nice and charge a descent amount of money - why not make products out of materials that are not swimming in a chemical soup? Cats and dogs have a much stronger sense of smell than we do, how can we possibly think they would enjoy sleeping on that? The smell bothered me for hours. And we wonder why animals and humans are getting sick with diseases, allergies, etc.?? Big chemical and pesticide companies are creating health problems for all of us. Maybe we should be looking more closely at the "cause" of our diseases and those affecting our pets.. I'll keep these window perches for the sturdy and easy to use frame, but I would never expect, nor want my cats to cuddle up on the foam and fleece provided. Yuck! Manufacturer, "please" look into healthier fabrics......... ... show more

I have been searching for almost a year for a viable cat perch. I needed one that worked with vertical blinds and small window ledges. I also wanted one that wasn't very large and did not stick out very much. I am currently renting so I was unable to screw a perch onto the window sill. I wasn't asking a lot, was I? Lol. I literally have spent hours and hours searching the internet and going crazy. I was at the point where I was ready to give up. Then I came upon a review for this one... Over time I kept coming back to this cat perch because I liked the size and that it would work with my blinds. I didn't think it would work with my small window sills, though. I figured the tape it came with wouldn't be strong enough to hold my cats weight, and, even it did, it would damage the window sill when the day came that I'd need to remove it. One day I was reading through the reviews again and saw one where the buyer said she used large Command strips. They are amazing and did the trick! The perch has not budged at all since I installed it. At 14" deep it's a perfect size for my cats and does not stick far out. I also like the rounded edges which helps prevent people from bumping into it. This cat perch appears to be well made and comes with good instructions. The pad and cover that are included provide a nice soft cushion and my cats seem to find it very comfortable. It took awhile for them to trust it but now they love it. They can lay in the sun, watch the birds and enjoy an open window which makes for a very happy parent! I highly recommend it. Use the Command strips if you can't, or don't want to, screw it in. ... show more

my cats absolutely adore these window seats! we had one in our apartment that we bought about 3 years ago. it was amazing and the cats love it so much, we bought 2 more when we bought a house! easy to install ( 3 screws into window sill) and the cover comes off to wash when needed.
