  • 5.0 out of 5 stars High quality printing!
Style: 300dpi + 150mm/s
I purchased this printer for 3 major reasons: size, resolution & price. I've been in the market for a 300dpi thermal printer and was usually held back by the higher price tags associated with them. In recent times, this has been remedied by relatively no-name brands that finally cater to budget-minded people like me. My review: This printer is realy easy to set up. It comes with a USB stick that has drivers and even an installation video on it! If you can set up an inket or laser printer, this will be a piece of cake to install. The printer automatically calibrates to each label size and automatically moves the first label into proper position which does away with wasted labels. The manufacturer has a label maker on their website for those who want/need to make custom labels. And it is completely free to use! You can create any size of label, place text and barcode and even simple clip-art style pictures. After a quick registration, you can make and store your labels for use at anytime. The print quality is superb. We can grow accostomed to the usual 203dpi that most of these printers have and, while good enough, 300dpi can surprise you. The prints are darker without having to crank the darkness and smaller text and details is very readable. Printing in higher resolution often has a speed trade-off. It is not as fast as many 203dpi printers, but is faster that other 300dpi printers I've seen and used in the past. It is pretty quiet overall. There are printers that can sound like a Star Trek transporter. Reviews on this printer mention a 'loud beep' when the printer is open, out of paper or jammed. Does it beep? Yes. Is it loud? Sure, but an alarm that is pleasant doesn't do the job. And if it does bother you there is a solution! There is a setting in the print driver to turn it off completely. Only the light blinks to let you know if there is an issue. A very thoughtfull feature from the manufacturer. (lol) Overall thoughts: I am pleasantly surprised at how well this printer works. We all have been dissappointed by products that hype up their capability but fall flat in reality. I am happy to report that this delivers the print quality and performance that is needed and expected by consumers like us. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Would buy again
Style: 300dpi + 150mm/s
Super easy to setup, prints look good, and I like the color of the printer itself. The only thing I don't like is that it beeps REALLY loud when there's no paper. And it won't stop

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use. And it's orange!
Style: 300dpi + 150mm/s
As the owner of an orange computer, when I was in the market for a label printer, these little orange beasties caught my eye :-) On closer inspection, people seemed to think they print well, so I gave it a go. They're easy to set up; just follow what everyone says on here if you use a Mac. (1) Download the driver from the KComer website and install it. You'll need to right-click and choose 'open' on the downloaded file, don't just double-click it or the system will give you a warning. (2) Choose the 150x100mm paper size from the printer dialogue. You can save this as a preset and it will default to that next time you print. I got the 300dpi version since most of the better-known brands use that and it prints very nicely. It's so much more civilized than cutting out prints and sticky-taping them to the boxes, and looks much more professional. Edit: 1 year in to owning this printer, I am still happy with it. I just got some 2" diameter round labels and it prints those very nicely too. Just make sure you (1) set the paper size (50mmx50mm in this case), (2) adjust the guides in the back so the sticker roll is centered snugly in the middle, so it lines up properly. Also of note - this printer loves to beep. Very loudly. Every time you open the cover or change paper, you will know all about it. Once it has paper and is happy again, it is very quiet and in normal operation you barely hear it. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Nice, compact thermal printer
Style: 300dpi + 150mm/s
I used to print "labels" on paper on my laser printer, cut them and scotch tape them to the box. Doh! Why didn't I get a thermal label printer sooner? Kicking myself. Anyway I'm glad I decided to get this unit. Been using it for a few weeks and I love it. The print quality is very good, not laser quality but more than adequate for creating labels. I've had a couple of instances where the printed label ripped when I was removing it too quickly. Now I just take a second to make sure the perforation is lined up with the blade before tearing it and have no problems. Other than that, it's a well made, fast and quiet little printer ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Prints great… paper feed is a bit of a drag.
Style: RX416HD-300DPI
Could be my paper or just how the printer works. Had a few jams and double prints. Printer head can be issue. Will need to print more with other labels to be sure. Recommend as is.

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars Prints Have STREAKS (missing thermal print area)
Style: 300dpi + 150mm/s
The Labels are coming out with lines in them in the same area. Attempted to wipe down the print head, same issue. I believe something is defective with my machine. Going to message support to see if i can get another one. I will say this, the size of the machine is perfect, it was an easy setup.

  • 2.0 out of 5 stars Cord connections spark-only worked about a year
Style: RX416-203DPI
I looked at a lot of thermal printers since I had never had a thermal before. I decided on this one because of the good reviews. I sell online and needed to print labels through USPS. Set up was relatively easy. The label print quality was always kind of iffy. At times I’d have to reprint labels because it wouldn’t be legible. Even with keeping it clean, this would happen. I didn’t use the printer often. A few times a week if that and maybe 5 labels or so at a time so it wasn’t always going. Every now and then I’d notice the Cords to the printer would send sparks out the back. A little worrisome but it was still working until a year later it stopped. So that was that. Pretty disappointed because I don’t have the funds right now for a new printer and I’ll have to go back to paying more at the post office until I can get something else. ... show more
