  • Great postage printer, *** FIX for those with white spots on bar code ***
Bought to print postage labels for E-bay sales. After less than twenty minutes out of the box, everything was set up and working. Pros: - Very compact. - Huge savings on effort and time compared to printing on normal paper, cutting out the label, and taping to a box. - Easy to use. - Seems very well built. - Comes with a USB cable, and a small "starter" packet of 4" x 6" self adhesive labels. - Website is nice with plenty of info and various how-to's (E-bay, Amazon, etc.) - Doesn't use proprietary labels. Cons: - There's a surprising oversight on the website, although it lists possible fixes for problems, it doesn't go into detail on how exactly to implement the fixes. To make the print-out darker, they suggest slowing down the print speed and increasing the print density in Printer Preferences -> Settings, but they don't tell you if the numbers should be higher or lower. Through trial and error I figured out the lower the number the slower the print speed (the "correct speed" for me appears to be 3 ). I'm still playing around with the density settings, but so far 6-8, prints out nice dark labels with no white spots. Bottom Line: There's really only four options for dedicated 4"x6" label printers. The Brother and DYMO both appear to have reliability issues, and the Zebra is too expensive (at least for what we're doing). As long as there's no malfunctions, the Rollo is looking like one of those devices that we'll wonder how we ever lived without it. Update: It's been more than six months and the Rollo keeps chugging along with regular (almost daily) use. Since the manufacturer has fixed their website instructions (very appreciated BTW), I'm now giving it five stars (from 4 to 5). ... show more

  • One of the best business purchases I have ever made
I recently purchased a Rollo printer for my online business. I've had it for a week and it's already changed the shipping game. Prepping 10+ packages to ship used to take me over an hour, it now takes half of that time. The first day I had my Rollo, it went from the box to printing labels in around ten minutes. Set up was super simple and straight forward. There are short, concise, and helpful videos on the Rollo website that demonstrate set up making it a breeze. It comes with a small amount of labels to play with and test during set up. I purchased the Rollo branded labels for use and have since changed to those. They work very well with the printer and at $0.04 a label, with even cheaper options available, this printer will also be a money saver for my business. I do not use a label holder for my labels, they're stack style and they just sit behind the printer. So far, I have had zero feed issues. I utilize Poshmark, eBay, and Paypal sell items and print shipping labels from. My Rollo printer works perfectly for all three. Rollo is not a listed printer on PayPal, but selecting any printer that has a 4x6 format works to print shipping labels. I have a MacBook computer and have had no problems with installing the drivers or hardware problems. I love that my labels are now waterproof and critical information won't get smeared on rainy day post office runs. Rollo is super fast, no waiting on my inkjet to decide to bless me with labels. No more having to fight with my inkjet needing paper or being low on ink. My one tiny complaint about this printer, which will probably only affect very few people, is that I have high frequency hearing loss and I cannot hear the beep sounds the printer makes and you have to listen for during set up and label changes. Luckily, my boyfriend can hear them and is able to help me load new labels in, but I wish the light on the button flashed in conjunction with making a noise to indicate when you should release the button for the printer to "read" the labels. If you have a hard time hearing high frequency beeping sounds, make sure you have a helper on hand during set up and subsequent label changes. Besides this, I love the Rollo printer and I would highly recommenced it to anybody considering switching to a thermal printer for their business. ... show more

  • This Thing Is Exceptional
I wanted one of these to print 4x6 labels for when I occasionally sell stuff on eBay. I'd never purchased a printer because they're such a scam with their ink cartridges. I had forgotten about thermal printing. So I decided to try this printer out because you don't need any ink. The labels for purchase are priced fairly. Five hundred 4x6" stick-on labels for twenty dollars is just 4 cents per label. They have good glue on them too. Another thing to note is its size. It is very small and you can put it almost anywhere you want. I've included a picture to show how small it is. The arrow is pointing at the printer. The topmost item is a 4K DVD player, which should give you an idea of how small the printer is. It feels well-built, and other companies should take notes on the instructions for this printer. If you go to the website that the manual directs you to, you can watch about 10 or 15 minutes worth of videos explaining every last detail about setup and instructions for operation. The instructions are very easy to follow and are some of the best I've seen. You can also adjust printing brightness and offset. This printer is a 10/10 for me. It's not often that I am this satisfied with a purchase. Kudos to these guys for making a quality product. ... show more
