  • JVC KD-X270BT Digital Media Receiver
I just received my new JVC KD-270BT Digital Media Receiver yesterday afternoon and installed it today. I replaced another JVC Receiver a KD-570S that I installed better then 20 years ago in a Street Rod I built. It was a great Receiver with CD and still like new being I only put about 2,000 miles on the car. I wanted to get away from CD and have Bluetooth Capability for hands free phone calls and music files so I upgraded to the JVC KD-270BT. It looked like it would be the perfect unit for my car and so far it is great and looks nice in the dash with its Red Lights surrounding the Receiver mounted in a Red Dash. The rest of the Receiver is Black. Now what I didn't like was the Directions. They are terrible for setting this radio up. They could of did a much better job I feel plus the Manual honestly looks like it was printed on Newspaper. A Newspaper quality manual in all black and white. That is my biggest Beef otherwise I would of gave the Receiver 5 stars so far. Slowly I am going to finally get use to operating this receiver. What I can say is the Bluetooth is great. Very clear calls from what I saw today and I was told on the other end that I sounded very clear. I am using it with my iPhone 7 and my music from my iTunes play very nicely through this receiver. Supposedly I am suppose to be able to use Pandora and Spotify through this radio. That I haven't gotten to try as of yet but I get it on my iPhone. Maybe tomorrow. Gives me and excuse to take my car out for another ride. Being it is not a everyday car but a Collector Car I don't get to drive it as often as I would like. ... show more

  • Not bad
I got this back in Aug 2021 for my base model 96 tacoma. Connectivity with my phone was great with clear communication on calls. Playing music on my phone through my car is great unequal to my newr cars with factory Bluetooth.

  • Great value and fits in a Volvo 240!
This radio head works super well, I bought it with some Infinity speakers and it pairs amazingly well! After making the correct audio adjustments it plays back super well and overall is a fantastic unit!

  • Great Value for the Money
Bluetooth works great, easy installation, fits my single din slot great. I have a 1999 Jetta, thanks to this head unit, I now have modern Bluetooth audio, voice commands, microphone mounted easily as well. Does its job. Bluetooth works fantastic, for $70, I would recommend to anyone looking for a basic single din head unit with reliable BT Audio. Does exactly what it claims. ... show more

  • Great Bluetooth.
Works great. A little time consuming if you dial in the eq on your own. Plenty of pre set options to get you sounding good if you don't get into that sort of thing. Car was upgraded with 2 6-3/4 Rockford fosgates in the doors and 2 Rockford 6x9s in the deck lid, it really brought them to life.

  • Works well, but could use better description and directions
I am happy with the functionality of the radio. The sound is good, I think worthy of four stars. However, I think the description should be MUCH clearer that you need to purchase separately a Stereo Wiring Harness that is specific to your car, and that a separate steering wheel control interface (ASWC-1) is needed if you want the steering wheel controls to work. The stereo wiring harness was $20 at AutoZone, which was reasonable (and I had no choice). You also need to buy butt connectors to connect the wires, which were cheap and didn't require any advanced knowledge. However, the steering wheel interface is $40, which was outrageous to me. I therefore am no longer using the steering wheel controls, which is annoying. My goal was to replace a working radio with one that had bluetooth and an aux input, and $60 seemed great, and $80 is okay, but $120 is not worth it to me. I also think the installation manual could be better, though I went to YouTube and found a ton of well made videos on replacing a car radio that were helpful. Finally, please note that if your current radio is a "double DIN" (two "slots" thick), this is a single DIN radio, and you will also need to buy a single DIN installation kit that covers the "hole" created when you remove a double DIN radio. They are inexpensive ($8). This is not a criticism of the vendor or product, just something I forgot and needed to buy later. That one's on me ... ... show more
