  • Wonderful Machine, but One Little Issue ...
This is my first serger. I did quite a bit of research and knew I wanted coverstitch and serger together. After reading all of the reviews, I took the plunge and decided on this one. I set aside an hour to get to know it, and sought out all of the helpful YouTube videos. Threaded it up, and it was amazing. For four test seams. On the fifth go, the stitching hung for a second, and then the stitches started to look funny. Somehow, a needle from the needle plate got caught and sewed itself right it into the serged seam, bending on the way out. It turns out that those needles are glued in, and none too securely. I called SewVacDirect and received outstanding customer service. The crazy part is that the whole needle plate had to be replaced -- I couldn't just replace the single needle. SewVacDirect offered to send a UPS label to pick up the machine or send me a new part. I opted for the new part since it was an easy fix, but it was out of stock. I was shipped a new one out about a week later and set down to sew again. I got through a pair of pants and a sleeve for a shirt, and the same thing happened! Talk about frustrating! This time, however, it was the straight needle that came unglued, and it had not bent on the way out. So I decided to get a little creative. I grabbed some epoxy and very, very carefully epoxyed that thing in. Voila! It now works like a charm. I would say that this is something very minor. Considering it came in an unopened Juki box and I did not pay dealer prices (who would have inspected and serviced it before I took it home), I consider this to be a great buy. ... show more

  • I love this machine!
I LOOOVE this machine and am so happy I decided to get it. (I got a used-like new one.) Threading is not difficult at all (but you'll probably find it easier to do the first time if you google some YouTube videos and check those out before getting started.) Sewing knits is such a pleasure with this machine and I can't wait to try coverstitching as well. Very, very happy with it, and am glad I bit the bullet to finally get a serger/coverstitcher! ... show more

  • very confusing and won't work
The instructions are very difficult to understand. I can not even get the thing to work. I think it is defective, but am unable to verify that fact. I would love to have someone contact me so I can figure out how to work this machine!

  • I had turned to online help in the form of YouTube videos and it was great help. I am a professional seamstress for 25 ...
I ordered the Juki MO-735 sold by SewVacDirect through Amazon around 1:00pm on Thursday 24th and paid for next day shipping which guaranteed to receive at 8:00pm on Friday 25th. To my surprised, the machine arrived around 4:00pm. I set it up to use the cover stitch function only because I have already had a Juki commercial sewing machine. However, threading was a nightmare, could not thread after the step 8 from manual’s diagram, it was not helpful. I had turned to online help in the form of YouTube videos and it was great help. I am a professional seamstress for 25 years, have been used the Juki MF-78?? industrial cover stitch from my company I used to work for but now have my own business so I wish I could afforded a similar industrial cover stitch machine. This one is for home/small shop use but it’s fast, powerful, quiet and durable machine that can handle a variety of fabrics from light and thin to dense and heavy. I have already recouped a half the cost of this machine as of Tuesday 29. Many thanks to SewVacDirect. ... show more

  • Just received my Juki Mo-735
Received my Juki Serger day before yesterday. Have not used it as of yet. Educating myself as much as possible before attempting the first threading etc of this machine. Will say when i received my machine the little beady packet that comes along in the box was broken and all over the machine inside and out. Had to remove the bottom plate to get it out .. although there were a few stuck between the gaps where the threads go. After that was done i could not get the looper door opened .. it would not budge. Viewed a video online of the machine and the person demonstrating it pulled it open with ease. Ok .. i knew something was up so i knocked it around a few times .. lightly that is .. and then discovered the pack of needles provided in the door had come loose and was preventing the door opening. A few more knocks and it was free. These things happen .. shipping was at fault in this case not the manufacturer. All in all i'm excited to learn more about this beast / beauty. ;-> ... show more

  • Bing's Sewing
Wife truly loves this machine. She had it set up and running in 15 minutes. That being said, my wife was a professional seamstress and tailor and operated her own business. So what I am saying is if you are experienced then this machine should not be difficult to set up and operate. If you are new to more advanced sewing then it may take you a little more time to get use to. Lots of info on You Tube as well. Great machine!!!! ... show more

  • The manual had great information on how to thread and use this serger
The manual had great information on how to thread and use this serger. I guess they've updated the manual due to reviews about needing more information. This machine is awesome.
