  • Beautiful and well designed.
I LOVE this machine! I had never heard of Juki before until I started researching sewing machines. And after watching a few YouTube videos on this particular model, I was convinced that this machine was affordable and had all the nifty features that would make it a breeze to use. I have been using it non-stop for over a week and just love it! After my last machine ( an expensive Janome) got me so angry that I decommissioned it forever (I was always stopping to rethread or detangle or rethread!), this Juki is a joy to use. Threading is so easy......winding the bobbin is fun....and the stitches are lovely! Looking forward to many years with it! ... show more

  • This is a workhorse machine.
My review of the Juki HZL-D600. I bought it in January 2023, so I’ve used it for a couple of months now. I can say that it’s very smooth and not picky about the types of thread that you use, like my Janome was. The D600 comes with several accessories for quilting included in the price, which I liked, including a walking foot and an extension table. This machine is made specifically for quilting, and those items would have been price add-ons with a different machine. Other things I do, and do not like: • This machine has a setting for a ¼” seam with your regular foot, so no need to change out presser feet while sewing on a quilt. Just make sure when you turn it on, you change the setting, so you don’t forget. (Experience speaking here) • It has two LED lights, one over the needle, and one over the throat space. I especially like that. • The thread is hidden in the top flip-up compartment, which gives the machine a clean look while sewing. NOTE—this can be an issue with extra large spools, but I found opening the lid resolves that. • The needle threader. Out of every machine I’ve ever used in my 62 years of life, this is the best needle threader, hands down. It works every single time, without fail. I have struggled with so many threaders on machines in my past, but this one is just perfect. • It has an adjustable presser foot tension. This is important when you are using a walking foot to do straight line quilting, to prevent puckering on the back. • Unlike some other “quilting” machines, this machine has plenty of decorative stitches and buttonhole options for those who sometimes do fashion sewing or home décor. The one and only Con I find is that the thread cutter is not working, and it took a while to determine that. This machine has a feature where you can press the foot pedal with your heel, and it will cut thread. But, this foot pedal is also much higher than we are used to, and you have to put your entire foot on it to operate it properly, and press with determination. So when I started out, my machine would take one stitch, then grunt and stop. I was not putting my foot far enough forward on the pedal, and I was engaging the thread cutter by accident, stopping the sewing action. I finally disconnected the foot pedal and the machine ran fine by hand, so I realized it was the pedal. Luckily, you are able to program the machine to not use the thread cutter on the pedal, so I did that. But then in trying to use the thread cutter from the machine button, it causes thread clusters and jams every time. I did not feel like this was enough of an issue for me personally to box up and ship my machine off for warranty repair. I am well within my warranty period, so if something else happens, I will address it then. I have so many positives about this machine that I can live without a thread cutter. ... show more

  • Totally worth it!
The media could not be loaded. As an avid recreational sew-er for 40+ years, I'd always had secondhand machines. I recently got bit by the quilting bug and after much research, I decided on this model. Works great for straight stitching and amazing speeds, and it'll be beautiful for making garments. Machine comes with cover, extended table and a slew of accessories. Easy setup, bobbin threading is a little fiddly and if done wrong tension is impossible to achieve. Just beware of bobbin placement and everything else is perfection. ... show more

  • Sturdy and strong
I am an avid quilter and occasional seamstress. I went over many, many reviews before deciding on this machine. It has not disappointed me and in fact - I love it! It comes with everything you could possibly need, a very good manual and a hard cover. It is easy to use and sews like a dream. It has done everything and more that I was looking for - even sewing heavy fabrics like a dream. It is fast and strong. The stitches are smooth and consistent. Also, the lettering option has been very useful. I didn't need a full embroidery machine, but having the letters comes in very handy. The most important feature I look for is the ability to do free motion quilting well, and this machine does! ... show more

  • Missing Accessories
The machine is beautiful. Unfortunately, it was missing most of the accessories that are supposed to be included. Since there seems to be no way to contact anyone to have them sent or any option to report just missing components, the entire machine needs to be packed up and returned. I will order a replacement and hopefully be able to provide a glowing review in the future. ... show more

  • Fantastic machine!!
This machine is a quilter's dream! Very sturdy, beautiful stitching, and so easy to use and set up!! Well worth the money. I will be using this machine for years to come. I have had it for 3+ years now and have made MANY quilts on it. Not one problem!! I did have to replace the needle threader, but it was MY fault. I did not have the needle raised and I messed it up. Truly the best machine I have ever had in 60+ years of sewing!!! ... show more

  • Dead four months after the warranty.
Two years and four months into the two year warranty the motherboard went out. Disappointed! Will not buy another.

  • I needed a large mouth machine without a long arm cost.
I love love love this machine. Havent had any problems and have finished my first quilt on it! The features are a bit limited and the lettering is very tricky. I love the extension table as it doesn't come apart like a previous "so called" quilting machine did. The needle threader works good, but you must be in the exact spot for it to work and does not compare to the brother SE625 threader which in my opinion is the best of threaders. Its a wonderful machine, but the price tag is a bit high for my expectations. I think the extra 300. you pay is simply for the name, JUKI. BUT with all that being said, I would purchase it again, because I love it! ... show more
