Features

  • MATURE SIZE AND CARE GUIDE: As it matures, the Judith Hindle can reach an impressive height up to 16 inches. To thrive, it requires high light conditions, ranging from full sun to lightly filtered sun. Plant it in well-draining, acidic mediums like peat/perlite, or sphagnum moss, and maintain moisture by placing a water tray beneath it. With hardiness zones spanning 7-9, it adapts to various temperate climates, but remember not to fertilize this plant, it relies on insect capture for nutrients.
  • SIZE UPON ARRIVAL: Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by a botanical wondera baby plant measuring between 1 to 4 inches in height, carefully nestled in a 3-inch-deep pot. As you embrace the role of plant parent, you'll have the delightful opportunity to nurture and guide your new addition to maturity, watching it thrive and flourish under your attentive and green-thumbed care.
  • WATER REQUIREMENTS: Caring for carnivorous plants is a unique endeavor that demands attention to detail, particularly when it comes to their water requirements. To ensure their well-being, it's imperative to exclusively use rain or distilled water for irrigation, these plants are sensitive to the minerals and impurities commonly found in tap water. To maintain the moisture level, consider placing a shallow saucer of water beneath the plant, allowing it to draw from its preferred source as needed.
  • IDEAL GIFT: This product serves as the perfect gift for plant enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Its petite, baby-sized form upon arrival not only embodies the charm of new beginnings but also symbolizes the enduring bond between the giver and receiver. The act of nurturing this young plant to maturity becomes a shared journey, fostering a sense of connection and care. This living gift offers an opportunity for growth, learning, and the joy of witnessing the beauty of nature.

  • Terrible, not worth the money
The media could not be loaded. Half dead, masking tape over the plant so plant was stuck to the tape. Tiny way smaller than picture leads you to believe.

  • Not necessarily as easy to grow as some may suggest.
The plant arrived looking similar to the picture (smaller and not as bright and perky or healthy). It's small but had many pitchers (~5). I left it in the container and watered it with rain water or distilled water only. I used plenty of water, as others suggested. I gave it medium lighting. It didn't take long for the pitchers to start dying, which seems typical. I have another different type of pitcher plant that I feared may be dying when I first got it but quickly began showing signs of new growth, and while it lost its original pitchers, within a few months had many new tiny ones growing on big new leaves. So far, this plant is not showing signs of new growth and the pitchers have all died. I slowly clipped most off as they began shriveling (to save plant energy for new growth), but I fear it is too late. I have no idea if this is my fault or if the plant was already doing bad after it arrived. If it was too much water, or not enough light (or too much light). If I should have repotted it, or not cut off the dying pitchers. Either way, it is disappointing since I was able to get a different pitcher plant to survive with the same methods (albeit a different type and from a different seller). No matter the reason, be wary. This may not be so simple to grow. If for some reason I can salvage the plant, I will update this with how. Otherwise, it is safe to assume that I failed. ... show more

  • Exceptionally nice plant!
The packaging is stellar. The pot is wrapped in plastic to retain the moisture and there is a long stick in the pot to keep the plant from being crushed during the jostles of shipping! I'm impressed and ordering a couple others!

  • Not as shown
It didn’t look anything like the picture. Though it was within the height range (at the very low end), the pitchers were so tiny. Very little instruction was included, and what was included was very generic. I looked up proper care but it wasn’t salvageable, as two of the tiny pitchers were already starting to brown when I opened the package ... show more
