Every paycheck I take a car payment out and put it in here. Safe and away from the kids! Lock is sturdy and made of good material. Comes with two keys, one of which I gave to my significant other for safe keeping. I wouldn’t consider this the best safe though. As I can imagine someone being able to hit it with a hammer a few times. But it works great If you hide it and don’t really have anyone to mess with your things. Childproof? Yes! I'm only giving it 4 stars because the label of "book safe" was written on the package when it arrived. My family saw it on the door step and knew what I was up to. Suddenly it was no longer a "secret safe" anymore. Kind of disappointing really.

My grandson wanted a box that he could lock with a key. I purchased this one for him. Not only did I receive the box overnight but the dictionary box came wrapped in plastic inside a cardboard box so it was easily wrapped to give as a gift and arrived safely with no dents. Very cute!
