  • Great value and stable but not lightweight
Color: Black
The tripod is very stable and fold into a nice compact structure. It's definitely not lightweight or something I'd lug during a backpacking trip or hike. However the weight makes ire very stable in breezy and slight winds. The ball mount is smooth and works well while panning. I honestly found the levels on the mount head to be gimmicky and hard to even out. I personally like that you can unscrew the ball mount and one of the legs to make a monopod. I found this to be much more useful since I'm primarily using it to capture youth sports. The monopod is really compact and stable without being cumbersome. The foam grip on the leg is a nice touch. I'd definitely recommend this if you're looking for versatility and value. It's weighs too much to be carrying around all day but great for when you're staying planted. Convert it to a monopod if mobility is your primary concern. ... show more

  • I really like this.
Color: Blue
As the description says, it's a heavy one. Not so heavy to make it difficult but does have substantial weight to it. It also has a hook to add more weight if you need to. With that said, I really like this. It's heavy enough to carry the weight of my rig. A lighter tripod would work but this one is alot more stable. Positioning the legs took a minute to get used to. They have a locking tab that has to be pushed in to move the legs and lock them in place. Along with being able to lock the legs in place the other controls are smoth and the level is a great tool to have when working on uneven surfaces. I haven't tried it as a monopod but the instructions look simple enough. Accessories are included in the box. Some alen keys ,the second mounting plate and parts for the monopod. Lastly, the ability to mount something upside down for close-ups is exciting. Was never able to get that type of shot stable enough before. Can't wait to try it out! ... show more

  • Solid and versatile
In short I am happy with and recommend this tripod. Now a little more detail. I am an amateur or enthusiast/hobbiest that just wanted a decent tripod to hold a light camera. I’m not a professional and this was the most expensive tripod I have bought. That being said for my use case I am more than satisfied with what I got for my money. Pro’s: It’s a versatile sturdy tripod that can go very tall, I’m 6 feet tall and it can go above my head so more height than I will probably ever use. It can convert into a monopod easily, need to unscrew a leg and reattach it to the ball head so I don’t think I would do it much on the fly but if I want to be more mobile/compact and take some photos at a school event I think it would be perfect to convert before I go. Ball head seems to be very well made and works great for what I want to use it for. The quick detach plate is easy to use and it’s really nice that they include 2 with the tripod I was very surprised at how nice the carry bag was, felt durable and had a little padding in it. Also, surprisingly compact for its max height. Con’s: The weight hook seems a little flimsy to me, plastic screw in piece with a metal hook. Has a light spring on it. Seems like it would be fine for a small camera bag 8lbs or less. But not ideal for a heavy backpack. That being said, I don’t plan on using the hook much as it’s sturdy without a counterweight The leg lock tabs seem loose when I use them to adjust the legs, they slop around quite a bit as I move between the different lock points. Once they are engaged its sturdy so I’m fine with it considering the price of the whole thing. ... show more

  • Great tripod for the price
Color: Orange
I just received this tripod and have not had a chance to field test it yet but my first impressions is that the quality of tripod was much better than I expected for price. It is SOLID and heavier (in a good way) than I though it would be. I love that the tripod is very versatile and there are tons of features but I will just mention the ones that are important to me and things that stood out. Fully extended the height is what I was looking for. I can set it up in the back of a room with a crowd that is standing and get my camera high enough that I am not just shooting the back of the head of the person in front of me. It does fold down to a relatively short length but completely folded down it is a little bulkier than I would like but it does come with carrying case for easy portability. Ball head is nice but not quite as "refined" as a more expensive head but works great and is smooth. It does come with Arca swiss type clamp and 2 plates. The included plat fits perfectly into clamp but I have a 3 Legged Thing Peak Design Capture compatible quick release plate on my camera. It fits and holds the camera solidly in place but a little finicky to get set right. I love that I can transform it into a monopod, but it is not a quick and easy on the fly conversion but involved enough that i will most likely decide what I need for the day and just go with that (of note, it is not hard to do, I am just lazy). The flip lock leg design seems solid but the twist lock on the center column might be the weak link. It works great out of the box but I just wonder that in the long run if this the part that may wear out first, only time will tell. ... show more
