  • Good for moderate tasks, but don't push it
I've had this for a few weeks and ended up wrecking several of the bearings due to overloading it-- I've worked silver and copper, and I'm not sure if copper was a bit much for it or it was that I didn't periodically anneal the metal, but eventually it started to get really difficult to turn (With nothing in it). Lubricating it did very little, and it was only after I disassembled it that I saw that the walls of the needle roller bearings had literally squeezed out the sides and gotten spread around the the hole the bearing was mounted in. Very odd, I've never seen that failure mode for a bearing. Anyway, you can get a 10-pack of bearings here on Amazon for under $20 (Look for HK2516), and replacing the three that failed wasn't terribly difficult. The most time-intensive part was putting it back together since I hadn't bothered to take a picture of it before I disassembled it, and there are quite a few gears and screws that need to be put back in a particular order. To sum up: the roller machine works ok for lighter stuff, but be prepared to replace bearings if you don't use a little common sense and patience. Not sure about the quality of the existing bearings or the ones I used to replace them, so perhaps your mileage will vary if you use top-quality parts instead of whatever junk it came with. I *really* pushed it hard there for a while, putting a lot of parts through it with aggressive amounts of force, and it wasn't a huge surprise to see it stop working. At least the replacement parts are cheap and nothing critical like the frame or rollers failed. ... show more

  • Great budget mill.... Amazing.
This mill is amazing for a budget rolling mill and far exceeded my expectations. I have used a Durston mill for years and it was wrecked during my move across country. I was sceptical about these budget mills as I've seen so many bad reviews, but being strapped due to my move and the new house, I decided to give one a shot. When it arrived it was packaged solidly in form styrafoam and a nice, thick cardboard box. The paint isn't great, but did come in good shape (no scratches) it feels very sold with good heft to it. The t-handle and gears as well as the crank are fluid and turn nicely. First thing I did was melt down some copper and roll out a sheet. It had no problems. Rollers seem firm and hardened tho only time will tell how well they hold up, but as for out of the box functionality... A+. I rolled some wire as well with no issues and gradually tapers wire end for use in a draw plate. If this thing lasts me 5 years it will prove just as good as a Durston. A Durston will last you a lifetime but a multi mill will run you 700ish $ I can buy 3 of these things and a steak dinner for the same price. Would recommend to anyone looking for an entry lvl mill, as well as anyone who just dosnt want to dole out 700 for a Durston. YMMV CALIBRATION::: Side note when you receive this mill you will have to calibrate your rollers.. set up to roll a piece of sheet and then remove the T-handle being careful not to turn either gear .. roll a piece of sheet through your flat roller... With a set of calipers measure your metal left side and right side. More than likely one will be larger than the other.. make a slight turn to the downward direction on the high side gear and roll again rinse and repeat untill your sheet comes out even on both sides. Carefully replace the T-handle again being careful not to turn the gears, lock it in with the bolt underneath the top cross beam and check your sheet one more time. J did this when I first got this mill in Feb and it hasn't wandered it's still calibrated solid in april. ... show more

  • Gears rubbed.
Out of the box it worked effortlessly but after about 2 hours of use, rolling silver plate from ingots, the gears became very difficult to move. I took off the cover plate and put additional white lithium grease around every gear. Still, I can barely crank the handle, without any metal in the press! Any suggestions? I will return this if no one has a viable answer. Should a correction be found, I will re rate this tool to 5 stars as it does what it's supposed to do for a reasonable price. RERATED. I contacted Customer Service and they gave me some helpful advice. Mill now works like when it first arrived! I loosened the cylinder attachment screws to relieve friction from being overly tight. RERATED AGAIN. I have put about 40 hours on this machine and an additional 20 hours fixing it. It is assembled with 14 stout screws and if even ONE of them gets any tighter than " barely snug", it will bind up. I just replaced the (4) main roller bearings as the originals had failed completely. The seller did provide them to me for free... Be prepared to do a lot of maintenance on this! When everything works, its a great tool but I have to give it only 3 stars because of the constant tweaking. ... show more

  • Works great. Delivery packaging terrible.
Works great but the packaging was terrible. Im lucky that it wasn’t damaged during transit. Definitely not enough padding in the box to protect during delivery. Product came oiled and ready for use. Works great. I use it to flatten out my copper. Didn’t come with instructions but it’s pretty easy to figure out. Great for the price. Really heavy and sturdy. ... show more

  • Great customer service!
The material is not good. It breaks easily after a few times working. But, the company contacted me and replaced the broken part. Very great customer service, quickly, friendly and responsibly.

  • Excellent Product!!
I had a similar one that I purchased through Amazon a few years ago and had excellent results using it. This roller mill is just as good, if not greater. I sacrificed the textured roller attachments for built in rollers with double rollers for shaping wire for additional creations. I matched the selling price with my original one and I am very pleased with my purchase. Thank you. ... show more

  • Worth it. Don’t expect perfection. But worth it.
I like this rolling mill. Honestly I was a little hesitant because it was so affordable. Was gonna buy a 700$ one but I thought I’d take a chance. Glad I did. Some of the gets on the top are a little loose but I was able to adjust it. Not once did the loose gears affect the rollers.

  • Good build, janky handling(shocker)
The mill seems to be straight and functioning despite having been used in the past three world cups as a ball.
