I have many RC cars and trucks, most are slow crawlers but a few are fast cars but this truck is on a different level. This 4X4 truck is fast, I mean really fast and it goes off the line quick, very quick. It is also very heavy. You can feel the quality just by holding it. The tires are soft and really help absorb the impacts and the oil-filled shocks are outstanding and help this truck land huge jumps. This is labeled as a "Hobby" level RC truck but it runs and feels like something more. The most impressive feature is the precise steering, lower end RC vehicles that are fast are also difficult to steer, this one is more responsive and much more fun to operate, I can actually hit the jump I want while traveling at a high speed. It is also waterproof and super easy to pair with the remote. Also nice that it comes with 2 batteries. This truck really excels with jumping, It is fast, can take a beating and absorb quite a punch. The shocks and tires really help It land solidly after a big jump. This is by far the most fun truck I have and I am still amazed at how well it returns to earth after a major launch. The media could not be loaded. Rebranded MEW4 from MJX. These trucks are built very sturdy and can take a beating. The tires are medium rubber with foams, vented on the wheel. Shocks are oil filled with a plastic body, they provide decent dampening. Metal driveline with very stout cvds on all 4 wheels. Headlights work nicely and turn on and off with the remote. 2 Lithium ion batteries are included, about 15 mins runtime, and the brushed motor gets quite hot after a single battery. Top speed is 19-20 mph, estimated. I have several of the brushless versions of this vehicle, and this one is slower. However, the low speed modulation and throttle linearity on the brushed version are better. My only real concern is motor life, it got quite hot on one battery on an overcast 70 degree day, so you may burn it out if you drive a lot. Overall, this truck has a lot of great quality parts and drives pretty well, and should be durable enough for a kid to abuse for quite a while. The body is a bit ugly to me, but the truck is good. Recommend, if you want a little more predictable driving quality over the brushless version. ... show more

    • Forgot how much fun it is to control an RC car
I have a couple of 1/10 RC cars and one 1/8 buggy but it has been some time since I charged a battery and run them anywhere. After charging one of the batteries and dropping a couple of AAs in the remote, I ran this around the garage for a bit. It was surprisingly responsive and I was equally surprised at straight it tracked with no adjustments needed at the controller. The controller is a bit plasticky, but the car itself is solid. My initial observation reminded me of what I would see on my other RC cars, but just a bit smaller. One big difference is that the ESC, steering servo, and receiver are in one combined module so that is probably not going to be replaceable, but almost everything else on the car could be worked on if repairs or replacements are needed. The included screwdriver and wrench are handy if you don’t have those, but a turnbuckle wrench, or needle nose pliers, may be needed at some point. I personally think it looks better without the body which makes it easy to turn on/off and swap out the batteries. I like the led light bar in the front and I will probably run it in the dark at some point just to have fun with that too. ... show more

    • Really enjoyable car!
Definitely great for someone new to the hobby, but don't count it out if you have been in the hobby and just want a fun basher. Parts are accessible and easy to work on and tear apart if you need to replace something. Drives well on all sorts of ground, even grass. Good feeling shocks. It's torquey, lot of low end power but not super fast top end, I imagine you can change that by changing gearing if you want. The lipo batteries seem to run decently and recharge well. My only quip about this (and it's a small one) is that the sticker over the windshield says "brushless" but this is a brushed motor in the car. Probably just got the body off the brushless version by accident or something. Has two power modes, full and reduced. I'd feel comfortable giving this to a kid at reduced power and not worry too much about them breaking anything in the house. ... show more

This little truck is bananas! It is insanely fast. It will take off so quickly it almost flips itself over. It will zip through the yard and throw little grass clippings behind it as it tears through the grass. It’s quite impressive and my family loves it.

The media could not be loaded. I like this RC car a lot. It is fast and runs for quite a while using the two included batteries. The light on it is surprisingly bright. It works great outdoors and spins some tires in gravel, loose dirt, etc. One problem is that the pins holding the body on fall out easily. At least they give you extra pins. Also, to change the battery, you have to take the body off, which can be annoying but isn't the worst thing. In conclusion, I do like this RC car but a few small improvements could make it so much better. ... show more

comes with hard pack 2s lipo which is awesome, on top of that this thing has some serious speed at full throttle and if you want wheelies....yep this is definitely a decent choice of smaller truck!
