  • I can't decide...
Size: 5 Gallons
whether I really like these or not. They are the correct size (5 gallon) and seem to be just right for my tomato and lettuce plants. I purchased Raised Bed Soil, and they were easy to manipulate while potting the plants. However, as another reviewer said, they do dry out quickly. I don't mind that so much, easy enough for me to water them each morning, but the water runs out the sides of the grow bag which means I have to give them a lot more water just to get it to go down towards the bottom. Seems like I should have anticipated this, but it did surprise me a little. Also, the area under the grow bags stays very, very wet; this was also unexpected. I had to go buy those plastic things you put under pots and turn them upside down and place the plants on them. My deck was recently re-boarded and has not been stained yet so it seemed like a really bad idea for it to stay wet like that. It's only been a few weeks, the plants are doing incredibly well, and they are easy to move around - first year gardening with vegetables so I still have to determine the best place for them on the deck. I anticipate a successful season, but I'm not sure I would buy these again. ... show more

  • Yes, you should! With a little update in June 2022
Size: 7 Gallons
I decided to try these because we were hit by a late snow and freeze in April (Massachusetts). Our growing season is not very long as it is. I have 3 large raised beds and this killed off quite a lot of my young plants that I’d grown from seeds and had just moved to the garden days earlier. Then we were hit HARD by chipmunks, baby bunnies and squirrels. I couldn’t seem to catch a break. Out of frustration for the few I had left, I ordered these fabric bags. They’re fantastic! I’ve even been growing green beans and cukes in them. We were hit by drowning rains this year too so I could simply move them under the decks shelter and move them back out when it was safe! I’ll be using them again this spring with smaller bags for herbs and large for tomatoes and blueberries. UPDATE** Here we are in the middle of yet another strange growing season. It’s June 24 and here just north of Boston we’ve experienced low temps and a very dry spring, now summer. I love, love these bags! I’m using the same ones AGAIN! There’s virtually no damage to them at all! Bell peppers here seem to grow slowly. I believe their roots get cold; the bags remedy that problem as they seem to keep them warmer and I can move them into the direct sunlight and then move them back to the shaded area later in the day. I’m here to buy more bags, not because they’ve worn out, but because they haven’t. I’ve decided to try my squash in the bags now! Good luck, I wish everyone would grow some veggies or fruits these bags help! ... show more

  • Works well
Size: 10 Gallons
Works pretty good. I have grown tomatoes and potatoes in these. They did pretty good. The only complaint I have is the dirt would dry much too quick and I had to water every day some times twice a day. But that didn't stop my from buying more.

  • Replaced older fabric pots with Jeria
Size: 7 Gallons
My older fabric pots were tearing and I needed to replace them. So far these fabric pots have worked well for me. I'm growing bell peppers in three of them, just planted a spacemaster cucumber plant in another one and I plan to grow Roma and beefsteak tomatoes in some of the other pots. These pots are smaller than some of the ones I've grown tomato plants in but based on my pepper plants I think the 7 gallon pots will work out fine. ... show more

  • Color me surprised!
Size: 7 Gallons
This is our first time using grow bags. We hemmed and hawed over which brand to buy and if they were worth purchasing versus using the plastic pails we already had. This is what we've learned so far: These bags are exceptionally durable. The orientation of the handles is convenient, and they're ultra- sturdy. We've lugged our tomatoes around - no problem. The plants in these bags are THRIVING compared to the three seedlings we put in plastic buckets. There's no contest. Sizing is accurate. They seem small, but nursery "gallons" are different than traditional gallons. We sized up to be safe. We planted as follows: In each 7-gallon bag: 2 zucchini plants, two squash plants, 2 green beans. In each 5-gallon bag: ONE bush tomato (sized up to accommodate staking and glad we did! In each 3-gallon bags: 2 leaf lettuce, 2 kale, radishes. You will need to water bag plants more often than bucket plants, but the results are amazing and very unexpected. The quality control is excellent. No issues with mold etc. This our planting, so I can't speak to their durability, but I expect to use these for years based on their current condition. ... show more

  • Love these!
Size: 5 Gallons
This was the first time I ever used this kind of planting bag. Very easy to use and move around. My tomatoes, peppers and herbs did great in them. I’ll be packing them up for the end of the season soon. Looking forward to growing more things in them next year.
