I was looking for a nice blender that wasn't amazingly expensive. I looked at Pampered Chef and Vitamix and those were way out of range. On the other side of things, I found blenders around $100 that seemed to fall apart and break pretty often. The Jawz was priced in between and seemed to be made of quality components, so I decided to give it a shot. I've made plenty of smoothies with it and my husband has been very impressed - never before have we been able to have smoothies at home that are the same consistency as smoothies you would buy when out and about. It blends easily and offers a smooth drink, though it is very loud. Understandable, since it's literally chopping frozen stuff up really fast. It has a safety switch and is very robust. It's easy to clean and use, and storage hasn't been a challenge (though the base is quite tall - be sure to check it's height before you buy to make sure it will fit in your cabinets). We had a Vitamix from the 80s that still worked, but needed a replacement part (I gave it to my parents and they fixed it up). Overall, the ease-of-use of this one is superior to the old one, and I'm happy to have made the switch. I can't say how it compares to current Vitamix models, though. If you're looking for a solid blender that's easy to use and offers "smooth smoothies," I would recommend this one. If you've got tons of money to spend or need to do some specialist-type things, those in the more expensive price range might offer more options as far as what you can do with the machine. ... show more

I require a lot out of my blender, and this blender by JAWZ doesn't disappoint! This has a variable speed control dial that includes 10 settings to really customize how you want to blend. I was really looking for a blender with this type of amenity because I like to make everything from green smoothies to oat/nut milks and this variable speed dial makes it easy to powerfully make most anything. I love that this makes my oat/nut milks super creamy and perfect. This blender is super sturdy, and even though it is a bit heavy, I enjoy knowing that this appliance is built well, with enough heft to keep it standing, even when blending super thick ingredients/recipes. I can't get over the power that this blender has and how smoothly it works! It even comes with a recipe book that has very easy and delicious recipes in it. And when you're all done blending, it's a cinch to clean. This is a little on the loud side, but this is to be expected with the high quality blending it does. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a high quality blender with tons of power! ... show more

    • Might be the worst blender I have ever had

We have ordered this several times, including to gift to others. I am stunned at the terrible design. The last two failed within 3 uses, because of incredibly poor design. The metal gear in the base and the metal gear in the jar must be made of metal that is too soft. If you have even the tiniest of misalignment, they wear each other down to a point where the blades no longer spin. And we are not talking about months or years of use. This happened within THREE USES! Totally unacceptable. The machine seems plenty powerful (although loud), and otherwise capable, but this has completely ruined me on the model and design.     • Just what I was looking for.

When did blenders become so expensive? I make a lot of fruit smoothies and other various smoothies. This blender has power and is easy to clean. The only thing I was hoping for is that it still does not fully break up the seeds on strawberries even on high for over a minute. There is some breakdown of the seeds but not fully. I understand the $500 models can do this. But over all the price, the features, etc. This blender works great. I choose the variable speed so I can have more options. I have put in apple chunks, orange chunks, bananas, frozen berries, powders, vitamins, etc... No issues. I would like to see a smaller jar for single servings, that would be awesome. The main jar is big and it is a learning curve to figure out one large cup serving without wasting. My son often has one small glass left over and gives it to me, so bonus there. The jar is thick plastic and is not overly heavy but sturdy. I like the mounting posts it sits on and the geared teeth that turn the blade. The blade is sharp to some extent. I rinse it and use a long scrub brush to quickly wash it when I am done. 30 seconds tops. You can add water and turn it on but it just takes too much time in my opinion. ... show more

I say mighty blender because it works so great for me. It blends my food fruits without using it for long. It works so fast and great! So much better than my former blender I had to throw it away because it could not blend smoothly.

I searched & searched for a good blender that wasn't super expensive because I go through them somewhat quickly. I needed one that would blend water & whole, dried chile pods to make my chile sauce. This blender does such a great job that I don't have to strain the chile! My other blender would leave large chunks that had to be strained. I also wanted a blender that would grind the chile pods to add as a seasoning like pepper. This blender did just that where no other ever did. My homemade chorizo was the best ever!
