Description

Jarrow Formulas BoneUp includes StimuCal MicroCrystalline HydroxyApatite (MCHA), a naturally derived and bioavailable source of calcium. Each serving of BoneUp provides 1000 milligrams of calcium from Stimucal MCHA, helping you to receive calcium for supporting bone health and density. StimuCal MCHA supports bone mineral density more effectively than traditional calcium carbonate supplements. This means that BoneUp can help support the density of your bones, supporting overall bone health. In addition to calcium, StimuCal MCHA also provides bone proteins, including type I collagen. These proteins play a role in supporting bone health and your skeletal system. Jarrow Formulas BoneUp is non-GMO. BoneUp is also gluten-free, allowing those individuals with dietary restrictions to confidently incorporate it into their routine. For optimal results, it is recommended that adults take 2 capsules of BoneUp 3 times per day with meals (for a total of 6), or as directed by your qualified healthcare professional. By following this intake regimen, you can maximize the absorption and utilization of the essential micronutrients contained in BoneUp. • This is, without a doubt, my calcium supplement forever.
Flavor Name: Unflavored Size: 240 Count (Pack of 1)
As calcium supplements go, this one is the most well-rounded, complete, and easy-to-swallow calcium I have ever come across. It does have one downside, and I'll get it out of the way first: you have to take 6 pills per day and you can't take all 6 together, you have to space them. You take 2 with each meal. But, considering the benefits, it's well worth the inconvenience. --Not only is it not one of those bullet sized hard pills, it's in capsule form. --It contains a form a calcium that is good for your bones, but affects your blood calcium levels to a lesser extent than other forms of calciums. If you keep your blood calcium levels controlled, you're less likely to get calcifications in your arteries as time goes by. --It contains nutrients that help preserve or promote bone growth such as the often overlooked manganese and boron which I never had in other calcium supplements. --It contains 1,000 mg of D-3 (iff, like me, you're supposed to have 5,000 per day, you need to supplement the difference with D-3 supplements). --It contains many other accompanying and bone supporting supplements such as magnesium, vitamin c, zinc, copper, and a relatively low dose of vitamin MK-7 a form of vitamin K that is particularly helpful for bones. If you take coumadin (warfarin) this cancels out the benefits of the vitamins but it should not cause a problem with other blood thinners. Since all I take is 1 baby aspirin, the MK-7 doesn't interact. My husband takes Eliquis and, supposedly, there is no problem there either. I am so impressed with this product that I have subscribed to it and Amazon automatically delivers it to me so I never run out. ... show more

  • Turned my Osteoporosis to Osteopenia in 2 Years
Flavor Name: Unflavored Size: 240 Count (Pack of 1)
I am a 21 year breast cancer survivor aged 55. (Praise God for that!) I had surgery, chemo, radiation, and Tamoxifen before menopause, which apparently can weaken your bones. My parents both had osteopenia, and a sister, who is one year older, did as well. I thought I would be different because I had a very healthy diet, full of broccoli, spinach, and other vegetables, dairy products, proteins, and got regular strength training 3-5 days a week, paying attention to lifting heavier weight which would fatigue in 8-12 reps- and also jogged or did Zumba. I am a fitness instructor and I had been teaching 15 classes a week before all the Covid shutdowns. I also got sunlight exposure frequently because I love gardening and the outdoors. I am on the lighter side though at 113lbs which is another risk factor for bone loss. Two years ago at age 53, I had my first bone density scan though and discovered I had osteoporosis. I was shocked. My one year older sister who had osteopenia didn't do ANY exercise, she drank Dr. Peppers all day-literally- and hated being outdoors so had little sun exposure for Vitamin D. She did not take any supplements. It was suggested I speak to my primary care doctor about taking a medicine to help, but I did some research and felt these type medicines are not all they are hyped to be, and actually have dangerous side effects such as osteonecrosis of the jaw, and may even make bones more brittle and dried up with extended use. It was dismaying to find out my diagnosis because I felt I was already doing all of the right things to preserve and protect my bones! Perhaps the cancer treatments, combined with hereditary tendencies, and a lighter body weight were the causes? After some reading, I added thisBone-up supplement which I took regularly 2 capsules breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the last two years. I had been using 2000iu Vitamin D3 during the winter, and also occasionally on cloudy days in summer previously, but I changed it to every day when I got the diagnosis of osteoporosis. I feel the increased D3 and particularly this Bone-Up have made a difference!! I am so happy to see my scores have improved. I do keep an eye on my Vitamin D levels in my blood work, and it is within the normal range. I would recommend the books , "Your Bones: How You Can Prevent Osteoporosis and Have Strong Bones for Life―Naturally" by Lara Pizzorno, and "Dr. Lani's No-Nonsense Bone Health Guide: The Truth About Density Testing, Osteoporosis Drugs, and building bone quality at any age" by Lani Simpson. They are good resources to learn more and be better informed about all aspects of this issue, including understanding testing and nutritional aspects. ... show more

  • Strong bones
Flavor Name: Unflavored Size: 240 Count (Pack of 1)
Good product, easy to use. Next time will order stronger ones because I had trouble remembering to take 3x a day. My fault, really.
