Love this product i get from my chiro. Works great, as I donate blood every 8 wks and struggled with low iron counts frequently. Stopped having low iron after starting this. Odd, I ordered here and container was plastic, not glass like from chiro, and pills were much lighter in color....

I've found this to be one of the best iron products if you need to take an iron supplement. My ferritin level goes up after I've been taking it (3-4 tabs a day). I've learned: take it on an empty stomach & take some vitamin C with it (I take a zinc/C tab with it, but some people take a sip or two of orange juice). ... show more

Even though I eat a LOT of red meat and other Iron-rich foods, my Iron level is a bit low. Probably due to low stomach acid, from being in my 70s, and from taking too much Omeprazole a few years ago. Low Iron will wreck your Thyroid, so I'm working aggressively to get my Iron levels up. My doctor is a Functional Medicine specialist, and he uses a different brand of Iron -- but it contains the Exact Same Trademarked "Ferrochel" brand of Chelated Iron in it. His other patients usually get their iron levels up within about a month, if they chew up a Vitamin C tablet when they take the Chelated Iron Capsule. This brand -- Designs for Health -- is much easier to find and cheaper than the brand that my doctor uses. Same active ingredient, easier to find and cheaper. Win-Win. ... show more
