  • Really very nice!
Style: Janome DC1050
i purchased the DC1050 several months ago and said I would come back and review it. Well, I am very happy with this purchase. I love this machine. I can't believe I struggled so long with my old one! This machine sews like butter. It is quiet and effortless. There are a lot of nice stitches and features. The "needle-down" feature, and the "start-stop" button are really nice. Now I can teach my granddaughter to sew before she can reach the peddle. I like the speed control. I can't wait to try applique. I have a disability and can't work so I enjoy sewing a lot. This machine is awesome and worth the money and I do recommend it. Sewing is fun again!!!! ... show more

  • Great sewing machine
Style: Janome DC1050
I have been sewing 30 plus years. Clothing at first and then quilts. I have had all manual machines. Brands have been Singer, Kenmore, Brother, Bernina and now Janome. This is my very first computerized machine. I am so pleased with this purchase. No guessing as far as stitch length or tension. The machine automatically does it for you! No pressure foot sewing (part of what sold me!). Needle in position (part of what sold me!) 50 stiches to choose from. Accessories are sparse but good quality. Light is LED and bright enough without being blinding. Fast shipping from seller. Received it in four days! Already ordered a quilting table extension. More bobbins in my Amazon cart! Happy customer. ... show more

  • Great Light Weight Sewing Machine
Style: Janome DC1050
I had visited my sister on Cape Cod and saw her use her Janome sewing machine. Seeing that my Singer sewing machine was very old (bought 1970) and VERY heavy (all metal) and I was constantly fighting with it to make it work, I asked her how she liked her Janome machine. She said it was the best machine she ever bought, actually received it for a gift from her husband. She showed me how smooth it worked and worked well it did! As soon as I came home I went over to JoAnn Fabrics thinking I could check them out but was told that my JoAnn's did not stock them. I wanted to test drive it first before buying it. I looked on line and found that Amazon sold the Janome Sewing Machine and I found the price to be very low priced. I took a chance and bought a $500.00 machine for $300.00. It was on sale! I received it within 3 days! (just before Christmas!) ( I decided it was my Christmas present to myself) I immediately took it out of the box and set it up as I had never had a computerized machine. I read the instructions which were very good and decided to sew bags to put my gifts in. (The machine is easy to operate. I tried many of the stitches and hope to continue to learn the rest.) The bags were a hit and I asked everyone who received a bag that if they did not want the bag I would keep it for next year! The machine of course is very light weight because it is made of plastic. But what a joy to carry it to my table. I just love it! I would highly recommend this machine! ... show more

  • Wonderful machine. Accurate
Style: Janome DC1050
Wonderful machine. Accurate. Easy to use. Great featutes. Its picky about thread and does not go through many layers or heavy fabric but for the price, I have greatly enjoyed this machine.

  • Great machine....
Style: Janome DC1050
Purchased for my wife awhile back. She loves this machine as the ones purchased before this one. She just wished it had better lighting. Existing LED lighting is still not sufficient. I keep reminding her that her vision is slightly impaired since she is blind in one eye and had limited vision in the other eye. The sound level needs to be addressed also. The machine makes noise while sewing the Kevlar material for the wedding dresses she manufactures. ... show more

  • Very poor zigzag stitch.
Style: Janome DC1050
Did good straight stitch, but zigzag was extremely bad! Thin cotton shirt material bunched up under the zigzag stitch, and the stitch was unevenly pulled toward the bobbin side. I tried adjusting thread tension as shown in the manual within the range of control. But there was no real improvement! I called the technician at Amazon's supplier (Sewing Machine Warehouse) and at his request send him photographs of different straight and zigzag stitches. To make the pictures clear, I used blue and red thread on the top and bottom, resp. The answer was if I used white thread on the white material instead, the stitches would look better. Fine service! I was disgusted and did not even try the other stitches. I send the machine back to Amazon. ... show more

  • Easy operation.
Style: Janome DC1050
So far, this machine is a good deal for the money. Its easy to operate, has great stitch control and fills bobbins quickly and no tangle! I like this machine.

  • Janome DC 1050
Style: Janome DC1050
I have not been using this machine long, but I already love it. At first when I tried it I had trouble with the machine feeding itself the material. I was used to having to really guide the material along with my old machine. This machine does not like it if you try to push the material into it. All you have to do is put the material in and put the foot down and start to go. The machine does the rest. I am working on very delicate material and this machine just glides along with no problems. Also hemmed up a pair of jeans with one the decorative stitches which was a blast. So far no problems with the machine. My husband commented first thing about how quiet it is. ... show more
