I guess an oversight on toyotas part... this affordable piece of plastic is a MUST! Keeps the cap from dangling and dripping and scratching! Installs in like 20 seconds once you find a Phillips head screw driver. The function of it is perfect, nice and snug, it won't drop it. Time will tell but it seems like very durable plastic. It was a bit of a tight fit in my 2013 tacoma, and it did change the way the gas cap cover (painted metal part) clicks closed. But it still seems to fit OK once you get it screwed in.

The media could not be loaded. Fit as expected. I really enjoy the threaded contact points, so it actually holds the gas cap. It's very easy to set the cap in place while filling up. It no longer dangles and falls down. This one fit very well and had a small groove on the Hinge side that "clips" into the metal framing of the fuel door for a super secure fit. One screw (number 3 phillips) holds to the open end of the fuel door. The slim size/design doesn't interfere with closing the fuel door at all. I highly recommend this to anyone with a 2016 or younger Taco! ... show more

The gas cap holder works great. It was easy to install and took less than 3 minutes. Make sure you hook the side opposite of the screw into the door.
