Might recommend the next size up for full size cats. This can be used for a Vet appt, but wouldn't want to leave the cat in it for long. Very easy to put together and seems very sturdy

I needed four crates to transport some kittens and their momma to a veterinary appointment. I did add two zip ties to the sides of the carrier for added support, but I would do that regardless of any type of carrier because I’m paranoid. I love this carrier. There are two different ways to open the crate in the front and through the top. You don’t need to completely remove the top - you can open one side and flip the top over, which makes things so much easier when dealing with feisty kittens. And what a deal! I would not ever use this carrier for anything weighing over 4 to 6 lbs AND I would put a strap around it to secure it. I would never carry it by the handle either... We got this for out 6 lb cat because we now have 4 cats and only had 3 carriers. You must pay attention when closing/installing the door to make sure it not only locks but won't come out so PULL ON IT. The plastic clips snap the top and bottom together - I don't trust them at all... they are too light weight. But for the money and keeping in mind that I would strap this together PLUS put zip ties thru the holes on the side - it's OK... for vet trips or emergency travel for that only. ... show more
