  • Easy setup, works great
We recently moved our TV above the fireplace and were unable to get cable there so we used the IOGEAR to get the signal from the corner to behind the TV. The devices are smaller than I thought but still big enough that they are hard to fit behind the TV against the wall. I was able to use a 90-degree HDMI extender to make it work. No problems getting it set up, worked out of the box. Works as advertised - can tell at times when the entire screen switches at the same time that some of the bits get left behind and there is some barely perceptible pixelation. For everyday practical use this not noticeable. We were able to reduce it further by ensuring the devices were out in the open and pointed at each other. I initially bought both this product and the SIIG CE-H23Q11-S1 Wireless HDMI Extender Kit 98Ft 30M Supporting 4K @30Hz HDCP 1.4 CEC 60GHz Frequency-Transmitter and Receiver to compare them only to realize that they are EXACTLY the same electronics - just in a different case for the same price. The IOGEAR won out because it came with HDMI cables and the form factor fit just a little better behind the TV. The SIIG is a smaller package, but I couldn’t get it to sit at the proper angle behind the TV due to it being smaller and thus the bad angle meant a weaker connection and more intermittent pixelation. The SIIG also didn’t pair out of the box and needed pairing. All in all for short range 4K wireless hdmi this works well and I’d recommend it for this application. ... show more

  • It actually works!!
Easy to set up and it actually works well! We have older HDMI wires run within our walls, but one of them seemed to have shorted or is not capable of sending a 4K signal. Enter this awesome little device. I hooked it up in minutes and am shocked and pleasantly surprised that it actually works. We have it running through a splitter and have a PS5 and other devices hooked up into it and it looks awesome. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • **Rating reduced from 5 to 3** Does the job (kinda). I get a 1080p HD stream (When it works)
****July 31st, 2023 update**** It works when it works, but then randomly it would lose connection. Once it loses the signal, reacquiring it is a hit and miss. I have spent countless hours over days trying to get the setup to work. I have a setup at home that captures the stream from the receiver and broadcasts it outside of my network. There have been times where I would have the perfect setup and I would be accessing the stream flawlessly from outside and Bamm it would stop working. I am currently using a J-Tech wireless HDMI extender kit and it's working flawlessly. *****Dec 31st, 2022 - Original Review**** Bought the first unit in Sept 2020, which stopped working after a couple of months. I got a replacement unit in Jan 2021 after discussing with technical support. The new unit has been working "flawlessly" since then. I have it setup so I can stream my live content from my streaming box. Everything works great. Just make sure there is a clear line of sight between the sender and the receiver and you are good. ... show more

  • Good product but only works line of sight
This product delivers excellent video quality. Unfortunately, this product only works line of sight. If you stand between the two units, it will disrupt the signal. The best use for this would be a conference room or somewhere that does not require the units to be hidden away. I am returning this because I need to be able to transmit through obstructions. Update: I ended up keeping this product after trying 2 other brands (JTech and Micca) that both used 5ghz wireless signal. While those models could transmit video while hidden away, the audio suffered complete interference. Probably had to do with my Google mesh Wi-Fi which also operates at 5ghz. ... show more

  • You get what you pay for.
I waited a while to write this review - I wanted to see if it kept working. I love them. This is the best set of remote video controllers I have ever owned. They connect faster than the others, the stay connected and hardly (if ever) drop (you have to walk in-between them slowly to make that happen) give a very high quality picture and I can whole-heartedly endorse this product. Best set I have owned in 10 years. All that said, my set is only about 10 feet apart with a clear line between them. But still, they work better than any others I have tried. ... show more

  • Cannot perform 4k with consoles and has a weird bug that makes it unreliable
I’ve had and used this for about a week now, and will be returning it asap: It’s a waste of money to use with consoles, last gen or current. This device cannot get 4k on any generation of xbox that can handle 4k: tried both the series x and one x and this transmitter/receiver can’t do 4k on either one since the frame rate xbox locks to for 4k is too high for the transmitter/receiver. You cannot go higher than 1080p no matter what console you have. Before you ask, yes its a 4k tv and ive gotten that performance out of my consoles on it before, well within range of this device’s specs. I don’t know why this is marketed towards gamers or what device its even supposed to be able to transmit 4k from since it can’t do it on the current or last gen consoles, given that they’re locked at 60 fps which you’ll never get with the product’s 30hz limit. It also has a weird bug in it where the picture will randomly freeze for about 30 seconds, the transmitter/receiver turns off, and comes back on in another 30 seconds. 1 full minute minimum of blackout before returning to normal. Again, pretty terrible for modern moment-to-moment gaming or just watching tv in general. And given the price, these things are just inexcusable and make it a pretty worthless pair of $300 blocks that give you 1/4 of the resolution for 2-3x the price when they do work. To be fair, the frame rate it does offer is great. In short: cannot perform at 4k with anything I happen to own/use it for (although I cannot speak for other gaming devices), is really expensive compared to other transmitters/receivers that do that same thing, and has a bug that makes it basically useless. ... show more
