I’ve read that the battery last for days. I’ve only used a single pack and it only last about 6 hrs, at most. Going to try 2 batteries to see if it last longer. Will switch to a plug in if battery drains too quick. I’m reading 2 batteries last a month or better.. We will see. When it works, it works very well…. UPDATE!! Battery is doing much better. Jess from their support team was most amazing. She went through my info from the Spot light Cam Pro and realized the wired setting, instead of the battery setting. Installing this was super easy. (Although I had ordered and tried the Plus version first. It worked for a week and quit. Not sure if that's because of my dual band router and the Plus only working with 2.4 GHz. I returned the Plus and got the Pro.) The Pro works fine with my dual band router. Gives me a feeling of security. And I enjoyed watching the big raccoon that came up on my deck! ... show more

I really liked the slim and trim profile of the spot light pro. I needed to added a camera on the front of our home for added coverage and I didn’t want it sick out like the spotlight model. I also wanted it to be waterproof. It took a call to tech support, but I found the spotlight pro battery has an IP65 rating for dust and water which is very good! In my case, the camera faces north and the solar cell needs to face south. I got the extension cable for the Ring Solar Panel and was able to hide much of the cable in the vinyl siding up to the gutter on the roof. I found an after market gimbal bracket and mounted my solar panel to the gutter over hanging the roof facing south! The Solar Panel is actually pretty well hidden from the ground. Now my battery is always charged and I am able to use the Spotlight Pro in high definition, sensitive motion detection, and snapshot every minute without draining the battery!!! So far, almost as good as my Spotlight Pro plug-in 120v Ring Camera (the Spotlight is still the best at watching everything). I can’t wait for winter to see how well it charges in the low angle sun of a New England winter. Fingers Crossed! ... show more

I have 2 of the same units and I have the solar panels to keep the units charged. One of the units with the most sun one of the batteries in the unit will not fully charge. They are new batteries and we're fully charged when put in the unit. Not happy with it I have to get a ladder and replace the one battery each time it runs so low. I need it to protect my property. As of August 22. 2024 Update on item with in a few hours I had a email from Ring Tech Support wanting to fix this problem. I have been working with a young lady and she has ordered a replacement of the camera all ready. Should get it in few days. Was very friendly and willing to do what was needed to fix my camera. She looked at my account and saw what I was talking about. I highly recommend Ring products and customer service. Going to replace camera when it comes in and should be all done for good. Update as of August 30. I have had the replacement camera up for a few days and it is working perfectly. The problem must of been with the charging port in the unit. Had a great Ring Tech helping me during the whole thing. Cared about my security. I understand that they are a very big business and make a lot of units. Things will happen dealing with so many but they stand behind the product. If in the future I need more cameras I will be buying Ring. ... show more

Camera picture is not top notch, but it allows you to see what you're wanting to see. The mounting process was simple with the mounting bracket that they sell separately (of course). I don’t understand the price tag on this product when it’s low quality material wise and image quality wise. Check this, I used a brand new microfiber cloth with zero particles on it. Guess what? The shiny plastic surrounding the camera lens of the camera STILL scratched. Thats how low quality the camera is. Very, very Disappointed. I’m only sticking with ring bc I like the app, their camera quality is terrible. Looks like a flip phone camera from 2011 even with stable WiFi. How embarrassing. Embarrassing because it’s low quality and even more embarrassing they have the audacity to sell it for such a high price. A nice Sony camera can be bought for 200$ with amazing quality and much better build quality. As a matter of fact, my CCTV cameras from 2015 clearly has higher quality video than these “pro” ring cameras. Also, the HDR is such a gimmick. Not even real HDR. The app is great, but the cameras are not and that’s where their focus should be as of now. Security camera video quality is vital especially when zoomed in it should be clear and not extremely blurry. Other cheaper priced cameras aren’t blurry when zooming in on the action of a video. Forgot to mention, the WiFi strength is much weaker than the Plus version. The Pro has very weak WIFI reach. The Plus surprisingly doesn’t. I’m returning this sorry excuse of a “Pro” version. Another thing I realized. The Plus version is more sensitive to motion sensing than this “Pro”. The flash didn’t even turn on as much as the Plus version. ... show more
