This tent is pretty much exactly as advertised and I found most of the 4 and 5 star reviews to reflect my experience. I wanted a tent with a big covered portico to keep dirty stuff away from the worst elements or to sit in during a rainy day. That’s what this is and the portico also has a bug screen. That portico area measures 10 feet at the main tent wall and narrows to about 8 feet at the screen door and has no floor. I’ll be adding a 6x8 heavy duty tarp to the ground, but any plastic or straw mat would be great. Personally I would call this a 4 person tent for a family, but it is really good for a couple or 4 person family. For 6 people you need to be very intimate or a couple plus little kids. Then again that is the truth for any tent. Just think about the size and decide what you need. Don’t look at the person count. Height is great. Inside there are 11 pouches for stuff which is a lot for a tent in this class. It also has two clothes lines that provide about 16 feet of hanging space and an optional screen pouch for the roof. If you don’t want the square screen pouch you have a hook to hang a lantern or whatever else you want to hang that isn’t too heavy. The bag to transport the tent and poles if very nice and not a tiny thing that makes putting the tent back a nightmare. The quality is good for a person who tents via driving to a site a handful of times a year. It won’t last forever but if you take care of it and put it away properly and dry I’m sure you can get many years use and more than your money’s worth. Especially when one night in a crappy hotel room costs the same as the tent. I was able to set up the tent by myself (without the fly) in 10 minutes. The media could not be loaded. Just put it up today, sides were easy to pop out but, a little bit of a struggle to get the ceiling to pop up for just me until I realized you have to have at least 2 stakes in the ground then it was easy. It is heavy when all in the bag but easy setup and quality seems good. I chose this screen tent for the floor and full rainfly, have not put that on yet but a very nice spacious screen tent. So far we like it. The value is great but it does have a few issues. We used it car camping once and at the beach on sand once. We're about to take it camping one more time: Pros: 1. It's huge. We setup a small dining table in it and had 6 people eating in there comfortably. 2. Easy to open and stuff back in the sack. With exception, the eyelet bolts on the hubs that you pull out are heavy duty and can snap on your hand and hurt you. 3. Very airy. Good ventilation without the fly sheet Cons: 1. The zippers to open up the tent can be a hassle because there is no place to stake the entrance down below the zipper opening. This means you have to hold down the bottom of the tent in order to unzip. 2. When the fly is on the tent, it gets really stuffy. We wish you can open up multiple sides and roll it up to give some ventilation . (bonus if you can make an awning out of all sides with the fly sheet) 3. The stitching is really bad. We haven't had rain on it yet but I suspect it would leak near the stitching. Lots of loose threads.. Overall, we like it. It's a bit heavy but that is expected. It's similar to the Gazelle gazebo in length. I will be applying seam sealer to it because I am worried about the stitching. But for the cost, it's a good deal. ... show more

First I’d like to start with how difficult this tent is to put together if you’re on the shorter side. Yes it’s nice to have some height in your tent but I’m 5’4” and I could Not get this tent up or even reach the top to be able to set up properly without help of two more people and a much taller friend. And it did not seal around my suv enough to keep out bugs. no rain fly with this tent so be prepared to tarp the area. Because It literally Rained INSIDE my tent! This is thin cheap material and just a bad design. If sleeping in the tent area be prepared to wake up soaked if any chance of rain. ... show more

There are many great features with this tent, but in my opinion, any tent that does not hold its own in the rain, isn't worth using. The excessive water permeability and access negates those otherwise good features. 😞
