We chose this fan from InoKraft to put on the wood stove in my husband’s workshop. The fan seems to be almost all metal and well designed. The structure helps sense the heat and move it. The part that makes the fan run is a lot like a heat pump. The fan was extremely well packaged from the factory and included a warm wish for the winter. We are pleased with the quality. We have only had this fan for a couple weeks so we cannot speak for longevity at this point. We see no issues or concerns but will update if anything arises. The price at the time of this review is $42.99. We don’t think the price is cheap but we wanted a quality fan and that is what we received. We recommend this fan for moving heat on a wood stove and our rating is 5 Stars. ... show more

    • Works great, even better when used in pairs.
I have several of these fans now split between my fireplace insert (it has a nice shelf on it where I place the fan) and my small wood stove in my basement (A "Country Hearth"). This fan is totally silent, and moves more air than you think. It really helps distribute the heat in a rancher, and requires no batteries or AC power. ... show more

I have an eco fan that is two bladed. I just received this Inokraft 5 bladed stove fan. at 300 degrees, the Inokraft was putting out 198 CFM, while the ecofan was only putting out 62 CFM max. I was measuring with an extech thermo-anemometer. The inokraft is a little beast, and has exceeded the manufacturers claim of 135 CFM, which is 63 CFM more at a lesser temperature. I have both fans above the stove and the house is warm and toasty. Hands down, the Inokraft is a great fan. ... show more

I picked this fan up early today and as it had fallen into the mid 40's last night it was chilly in my cabin. So I fired up my small stainless steel wood stove and put the fan on top. With a good fire it started to turn in only a minute or two and three hours later it still wants to turn, long after the fire and embers were all consumed. It just doesn't want to stop! It produces only a small draft and not a strong wind at all but it did seem to distribute the heat to some extent. It's simple to use and will only require an occasional oiling according to the directions. It sies have some sort of bi-metal (I think) inserts on the bottom, & they are there to lift the unit off the stove when the temperature reaches a level that could damage the electrical generating module. It seems to me4 to be a well designed and efficient way to get the heat out into the room. Once again though don't expect a strong wind. It produces only a very gentle draft, even at its top speed. It works well and is totally silent! It is also a pretty good deal at its price point in my opinion. ... show more

I find something adorable about it, it’s like a windmill for your fireplace! I picked this one because it seemed to be the quietest of the models I looked at, I can’t hear it even when standing next to it. I’m including a picture to show scale, for some reason I was thinking it would be the size of a desk fan, a hassle to move around. The quality of this unit feels excellent. It has a clean design and works great. I appreciate that they included a thermometer.     • Amazing wood stove fans.
These things are really neat. I love that they use no external power source, and use only the heat provided by the stove to convert heat energy into voltage to run the fan motor. I find that these lower cost units work well, but may not survive more than a season or two before the bearings give up. The fans aren't over large, yet they fit easily on your wood stove, or even on a kerosene heater to move air and better dissipate heat into your area. ... show more
