  • Very difficult to learn, but very rewarding
I’ve been seeing these electric unicycles for a few months now, and I finally decided to get this one because most sources say that this is a solid option when first learning how to ride. As soon as I got it out the box and charged to a comfortable percentage (it’s halfway charged out the box), I started trying to ride it with some walls to hold onto, and immediately realized that this isn’t nearly as easy to learn as a hoverboard lol. Lots of balancing techniques go into riding this thing, so you really gotta mess with it for a while before you get it. For me it was by day 3-4 that I was riding this thing close to top speed around the parking lot of my apartment complex. By then, it already felt very intuitive to use. You’re going to feel some pressure pains in your calves when you start, and that’s very normal. By the time you get to where you can ride it wherever you want, you won’t feel that same pressure anymore at all. My advice is to also get some power pads at the same time as you buy this wheel (or any other EUC for that matter). These will offer some cushion for your ankles, as well as make it easier for you to accelerate/brake when you’re riding. !!!Get some protection as well!! Elbow pads, knee pads, wrist guards, helmet! The last thing you want is to seriously hurt yourself while learning how to use your new toy. Lastly, you’d be a fool to think you can go into this and not at least fall a couple times. You’re 100% going to fall during the learning process, that’s just inevitable. Part of the falling means your wheel may get scratched up, but it’s tough-it can take the falls and the scrapes. So when you lose your balance don’t worry about grabbing the wheel to keep it from getting damaged - just get off and do your best to land on your feet. If you are worried about scratching up your wheel, you can buy a cover for it. I personally am not worried though. All told, this is a new favorite toy of mine. Hope to get to use it more soon/upgrade to faster/ longer range wheels in the future. ... show more

  • V5F - Impressive and great for a beginner!
This is an impressive machine! Never would I have imagined that in my life I'd be able to stand on a couple foot-sized platforms with a wheel between my legs and go 15 mph after 3 days of practice. Whew! If you are on the fence about this purchase, don't be. This is impressive tech. A couple tips: - If you are a beginner like me (and why else would you buy this wheel if you are not a beginner...?), buy a cover. We've beat the heck out of this machine. And though it's designed to crash, we've broken the plastic (cracks) in about 3 places along with plenty of scuffs and scrapes. A cover would have helped to save the body of this machine. We got one almost too late, after about 3-4 days of 3 people learning to ride an EUC. - If you aren't willing to put in the practice to learn to ride, don't buy it. My kids learned faster than I did but it still took them about 3 days before they were zipping around the driveway somewhat confidently. This is similar to riding a bike for the first time. It just takes a bit of practice. - Watch YT videos on learning to ride. I picked up several good tips to help me learn to ride the EUC from YT videos. This was very helpful. - Make sure the tire is pumped up to the min suggested psi. It's much easier (for me) to ride when the tire is full but on the bottom end of the recommended psi. If you are considering an EUC vs a one-wheel vs a hover board, go with the EUC. There are several reasons why. In short, this goes faster for a longer period and is much more versatile in terms of the conditions and terrain in which you can ride. It takes more practice and is perhaps more expensive depending on the make/model you are considering. I made the right decision and would recommend this wheel. ... show more

  • Died after 1 week. No response what so ever from Manufaturer
I purchased this InMotion V5F unicycle through Amazon and used it for just one week before it failed to turn on again after charging. Despite creating two separate service request tickets on the manufacturer's website, I did not receive a single response. This level of customer service is completely unacceptable and has left me extremely dissatisfied with both the product and the company behind it. I am unable to return it through Amazon because I bought it for my son for Christmas and did not even open the box until May.(We live in Buffalo) so the return window had passed. Out $700.00 with no recourse. I strongly advise against purchasing any products from this manufacturer until they demonstrate a commitment to better customer support. ... show more

  • Good starter wheel
I pre-ordered a faster bigger wheel that would come in a couple of months. Rather than learn on the bigger more expensive wheel I opted to buy this. I’m glad I did as it pretty much crashed about 10 times. It got a couple of chips but it survived. Since it’s a lighter and slow wheel it allowed me to work on basics without having to struggle with the weight of a heavier wheel. When I eventually got my bigger wheel I had the basics down and mainly had to concentrate on adjusting for the size difference. I still go back to the V5F to fine tune technique. ... show more
