Everything about this is a win! This donut was easy to blow up (just like a pool float), but make sure that you follow the recommendation and only fill it up about 75-80%. I have a small Shihtzu that was neutered and he had a hernia repaired exactly a week ago, and he has had this donut on almost around the clock ever since. This donut has prevented him from chewing or licking his incisions and after a day or so, he didn’t even notice the donut there. It is secure with the thick band of velcro and I have not had to re-inflate it one time since blowing it up initially. My pup has slept through the night and has not tried to shake off or pull out of his donut. In fact, he uses this donut as a pillow because it is so comfortable for him. If you have a dog that will have stitches, I definitely recommend this product. The vet told me that the cone they sent him home with would be fine, but my dog was trying to get out of that nonstop, so I am thankful I already had this donut waiting to swap out. I ordered the large for my old pup. She has an 18 inch neck and it fits just right. I originally bought a cone for her and she tore it off within a day. This product has been so much better than the cone! It’s way more comfortable and less bothersome for her. I purchased it so that she wouldn’t be able to scratch her face, and for the most part so has not been able to reach the area. She can rest or run around freely without an issue. It worked great! It's MUCH better than the cursed plastic cone. This one deflated a bit over time because our cat chewed on the valve, but I don't blame the manufacturer; I fixed this problem by hot-gluing the holes. My mom had to poke a hole through the safety valve because it was hard for her to blow into it. The fabric was a little hard to clean but I'm sure the velvet fabric of other sellers is much harder to clean. I wish it was a wipeable waterproof material, but I couldn't find that being sold anywhere. ... show more

Easy instructions. Blow up 80%, close and put on doggy. This has been so much better than the cone he was wearing before. He's able to eat and drink with this. Does what I need it to do/good performance. Can't lick and risk reopening sutures. I think he likes the extra cushion while he heals. Easy to take off. You can slide collar through for easy stability. Medium fits perfectly. (No idea on measurements, but 13lb shihpoo) Great price too. Seems like it will last. ... show more

The donut device is fine if my dog doesn't want to lay down and is light weight. The inflation valve is in a horrible spot. It has to go on the underside or her chin gets bumped by the valve if placed on top where visible. If on the underside it hits her paws and she cannot get comfortable. My dog is 6 pounds so she is tiny. This is still slightly better than a heavy cone that is heavy resting on her shoulders. ... show more

My corgi puppy got spayed last week so I bought this cone to not have to pay the Vet $40 for one of their cones. Right off the bat we had a hard time keeping it inflated. She had it for about 36 hours before the nozzle you use to inflate it came off and then she proceeded to chew the strap in half. Corgis aren’t known for jaw strength, and she’s never been an aggressive chewer, so for her to chew through it so quickly tells me it’s not a high-quality material. My dog HATED the collar the vet sent him home with. He literally would not move for two whole days, I had to take the collar off every time I took him outside. When I put this one on him he was immediately fine and acting like a normal dog again, no problems at all. It worked like a charm, no issues with him still being able to reach his stitches. It's probably too small to keep an animal from chewing their paws, though. It's also pretty chew proof, at least for small dogs. This was much better than the alternative plastic cones. It's soft and it looks easy to relax in as well. The fit was great and easy to adjust, easy to remove. However my 15 y/o granddaughter needed help blowing it up she's not aware of pinching the opening together, I hope you are or you'll have the same problem. ... show more
