Way better than a plastic lampshade cone after surgery. If your dog goes outside much, you might want to get a second one. That way you can change out and always have a clean one.

My Goldendoodle had to have surgery last week to have tumors removed, she loathes the cone of shame so we purchased this for her and we told her it was a necklace. She loves it! She will probably be wearing it long after her stitches are removed, she uses it like a comfy pillow. Only drawbacks is it needs touch up inflation as it loses a little sir, no big deal just a quick zap with potable air compressor gets it right back into good order. I highly recommend this instead of the trational E -Collar. This is an XL, very soft, has adjustable velcro strap for sizing. Shelby is a 56 lb Goldendoodle, the XL fits her great! ... show more

We purchased the Tonqixope Inflatable Protective Collar for our English Redtick Coonhound to prevent her from licking wounds on her belly during the night when we could not watch her. We attached her everyday collar to the inner ring of the inflatable collar's 3 nylon straps and adjusted the inflatable's velcro strap to secure the collar. Within minutes, we heard our dog scraping the collar against furniture to try and get it off and by the time we got to her, she had it hanging in front of her from one of the three nylon straps . We removed her everyday collar and fed it back out of the remaining nylon loop, the other two loops having been torn from the ultra thin fabric covering the inflatable donut. All of the stitching was ripped from approximately half of the inflatable's fabric covering. as shown in the photo. Next day we returned it for a full refund. It should come as no surprise that dogs will not like to wear such a collar (just as they do not like wearing a cone), so to have such ultra thin fabric with light stitching is unacceptable. We purchased this item for our medium size miniature schnauzer. When it arrived, the pillow case is too big for the inflatable inset. It works ok but it’s loose on him. We use this when our dogs go outside to prevent him corn squeezing through our fence posts and running away. Because it’s loose, it doesn’t serve our need that well. So this idea is great unfortunately it did not prevent him from reaching his back paw which is where he had stitches. But he liked it better than the cone and it doubled as a nice pillow to rest his head. It overall doesn’t prevent him from reaching much on his body. The zipper to cover the inflatable broke immediately after i tried to zipper it but it was still usable so i just left it. The strap to hold the collar one of them ripped while he was in his crate that night and he got the whole thing off. So i had to sew that back together. This cone didn't seem to bother my dog so much, and it kept him from chewing his surgery wounds. I wouldn't recommend it if your dog is naughty or if the wound is large or if it is easily accessible, like on the feet or hind area.
