instructions or how to put together could be improved; but i was able to put together and it works wonderfully. it is easy to thread and the yarn travels smoothly. and it makes the cutiest lil yarn cakes. and the winder is pretty. it is definitely a keeper glad i ordered it

The wood is beautiful. Fairly easy to assemble. It does require more effort to spin the knob on the ball winder than my old plastic one, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. Unfortunately the metal piece on the bobbin has unsightly scratches and rust on it. Can't figure out how to contact the seller to judt get a replacement of that part without having to return the whole thing. ... show more

Product pieces did not fit together and had to be modified with tools in order to assemble. Cannot fully tighten certain pieces because of the unevenness of the wood that blocks the mechanism from turning. Very unstable. Fought through winding two very ugly balls of yarn before I was not even able to turn the crank anymore. Nothing more than an overpriced decoration to put on a shelf. Baffled by some of these other reviews because I truly cannot get this to work well no matter how many modifications I make. Either the quality is SUPER inconsistent, or we literally received a different product. I mean, I couldn't even put the thing together without literally taking power tools to it. ... show more

Fast delivery, very well packaged to avoid any damage, easy to assemble (no instructions on the swift but that really isn’t necessary). Now, until now I used the back of a chair to wind skeins, and used toilet paper rolls to help make yarn cakes. Working with these beautiful items was such a pleasure! My husband didn’t understand why I kept smiling the whole time during the first use. No tangles, neatly and orderly wound into a cake. The swift heavy enough so it doesn’t need to be clamped (though I was provided with one and an extra drive belt for the winder). I love it!!! ... show more

The swift is so pretty, but not very useful, the yarn constantly falls off, and if you make it tight enough for the yarn it won’t actually spin. I have multiple skeins of yarn that aren’t usable because they got tangled and I haven’t been able to untangle them so far.
