  • Very easy to use and sounds quite good
Excellent product for people who love music but are finding it difficult in managing musical devices

  • I'm grateful for this project music box's design
A family member with Alzheimer's had stopped listening to music because the stereo became too complicated to operate. I made a playlist of "Jump Jive and Wail" songs from the 40's & 50's. When she listened to the music she started singing along remembering most of the verses from every song and that really elevated her mood. Recently she moved into assisted living. I got an MP3 player and speaker so she could listen there. Then realized how complicated it would be for her to operate and troubleshoot. I found this player online and bought it. I transferred the playlist to it. Now when she wants to listen to music it is as easy as off and on. If she forgets which way the toggle goes, just press it and the music turns off or on. She listens all the time. This was a great purchase because it delivers, just one step to turn it on or off. BTW, the sounds is very good. There is a dial on the side for the volume but she doesn't adjust the volume. ... show more

  • Easy to use

My dad has dementia. He loves music, but can’t read well enough to pick out music. This press button player allows him to turn on the “radio” without having to make any decisions.

  • WHAT A STEAMING PILE OF JUNK!
Color: Black
Even if I had paid $30 for this, I would be disappointed and would have sent it back. But at over $140, I feel like I got mugged. Never mind the fact that I got it to play one time, and after I turned it off, it never made another sound. I can forgive a defective item. But this is a defectively designed item, through and through. The cheapness of construction and the fact that all the controls and ports are black on black with no light except for a tiny little blue one in the back which lights up nothing means you'll be squinting and running your hands over it every time you want to change the music or adjust volume, even in a lighted room. In a dimly lit one, you'd be no worse off if you were totally blind. The best thing about it is the sound quality, and even that fails to meet basic expectations, especially for a cabinet of these dimensions. The muddy, congested bass and dull, anemic highs had me shaking my head and saying out loud, "The profit margin on this thing must be obscene!" Ten bucks, tops. That's their build cost, I'd estimate. Netting them a gross, shameful $130 profit per turd box. Perhaps they'll find it in their hearts to spend a little of that gravy on a total redesign, and decent quality parts. If they just do the opposite of everything they did before, I'm sure their next model will be what this should have been. To close on a high note, the headphone output jack has plenty of power and drives my large studio headphones to impressive volume levels easily. ... show more

  • Seems OK so far
We were not able to control the order in which the MP3s would play on the device. It's not alphabetical, it's not by size, it's not by date added. Seems entirely random, which is suboptimal. I knew the device would not allow for selection, but I hoped to control the order of play by the way I created the playlist on my computer, before transferring it to the device. We found a public domain source for old radio shows, which we successfully loaded on the device. It's a gift that won't be delivered for another 2 weeks, so I don't yet know how it will be received. ... show more

  • Just what I've been looking for
Got this for my wife who is in memory care, since she can't operate a phone or a radio any more. This allows her to listen to a stream of songs she cares about, in good fidelity. The build quality and sound are excellent, the design shows a lot of thought from someone who understands the difficulties of dementia, and the memory card is large enough to hold 1000's of songs if desired. I added about 150 which appears to be adequate in terms of not repeating too often. ... show more

  • It's amazing!!! Perfect for elderly with dementia! It only has two bottoms to touch "ON and OFF."
Color: Black
Good choice for my brother with mental health problems!!. Update 04/10/2024: the jack for the earphones has been broken and it is lost inside the player. Should think of doing something more sturdy

  • Amazing item for dementia/ elderly
Allows my father to enjoy music again. He is unable to figure out a CD player or radio but can flip one button. I used a sharpee to make the ON OFF easier to see.
