    • JUST got today and my experience so far UPDATE A couple caveats

EDIT: Temps getting cold here in the Midwest and our power grid tends to go out. THIS is a great time to have a charged portable DVD player! My place is all electric, so it will be flashlights and this player. Anyone else who gets outages fairly often, keep this baby charged so you at least have some entertainment! _________________________ EDIT: Back from surgery on my foot and have to keep elevated, so having this dvd player I put on a table next to bed is great. What I have noticed is older dvds, I don't mean that they're not new, I mean older technology, less hi def, don't play as well. I had two that froze. And there was nothing wrong with them, just movies were made like 30 years ago. Films made with higher def tend to work better and not freeze. Go figure. Would get player again. OH it does tend to get WARM. I have it on a hard plastic folding table. I use it plugged in as not travelling, just at home, so don't have to charge it. _______________________________ I am due to have surgery Mon Dec 23rd. I wanted to be able to watch movies in bed. I have a desktop computer hooked up in my l.r. which I can watch movies on, but if I want or need to lie down, I wanted to be able to watch films. Was pleasantly surprised I received this less than 48 hours after ordering. I immediately opened it up and turned it on. It was charged. It didn't look used, yet it was charged. I quickly looked at the manual, put in a dvd, put batteries in the remote and voila. Put the Meg Ryan movie French Kiss in. And it played! PROS: PRICE even with tax got for 108 and it said it usually sells for about 160. It also had the best and most reviews on Amazon for a DVD player THIS size. So far, seems easy to figure. Good size screen and I am use to a large computer monitor. I have never had a portable dvd player before but I can't imagine watching on a screen about half this size. So score. CONS: I have a headset and will probably be using it because I have great hearing, but the sound does not go that loud and while I can hear it, but the sound isn't crystal. The picture isn't PERFECT, but good enough for my needs. if you're used to really hi def, well, not that. Tomorrow is my surgery, two days before Christmas, but now I know I can watch films in my bed at home. BOTTOMLINE: SO FAR, THRILLED even with the caveats above. Glad I got it. ... show more

This machine is fantastic, it has great picture quality for it's cost and size. Loud speakers so you can easily hear it. Love the remote it comes with makes it so easy to use. Even was reading a disc that my other player stopped being able to read. Great Media Player for your needs, and surprisingly lightweight. Functionality works great, and has a nice clean look to it.     • A Great Player at a Great Price!

I no long have a DVD player hooked up to a television and I was looking for something portable I could use in multiple locations with minimal fuss and hookups. I use tablets and laptops but have never had a dedicated DVD player with a screen so after doing my research, I settled on this one due to the reviews regarding the manufacturer's great customer service and am really happy with it. I can see where some people might be dissatisfied with the video quality but for the price it's just fine for my needs. The audio is, again, acceptable but it's super easy to plug in an external speaker or headphones if you need something better. The listing and packaging reflects this, but be aware there is no bluetooth functionality. It initially felt a little lightweight and I was worried about it being easily damaged, but I have moved it around quite a bit without being in a container and there is no drop in functionality or even blemishes. I'm not sure it would hold up to really rough handling; it's probably not something you'd want young children handling. While I primarily use this player plugged in, the battery life is really good and mine works pretty close to the 6 hours off the charger. I prefer, and really like the really responsive remote but the controls on the machine work just fine. Even in the dark they are pretty distinctive by touch if you aren't using the remote. The automatic "save and restart where you left off" function works really well and as I shut off the machine and move it around a lot, I really appreciate it. The ability to hook this machine up to a bigger viewing screen is a nice bonus (they even include the cable), but I personally haven't tried using it yet. I used it a lot in the last few months, haven't had any problems and it's a really great purchase that I'm still very happy with. ... show more
