  • It works from My Phone
I sent the first model back because I needed to use from my phone. Which what this one dies, whether I am at home or on the road.

  • Read BEFORE Trying to Install This Printer on Windows/Mobile.. OEM Software Bad, Hardware Good.
REALLY Short: Make sure you know the exact model number of the printer you received. Ignore quickstart guide, instructions, etc. Windows: Go to SeagullScientific /Downloads/Drivers and get the printer driver from this site. Can also get BarTender software (label app) if you want. Mobile: Download Bartenders App from same site. Don’t use IDprt Software (including drivers). You’re welcome. TLDR: After spending an hour messing around with the crap OEM software (okay, just the driver, wasn’t going to even try to use their label app), I gave up. Saw an excellent “review” from PCMAG for this printer. Basically ends up giving instructions on how to actually install this printer with certified drivers and a working mobile app as well as good label software and free templates. Thank you PCMAG. Still here? Now the Standard Review (ahem….) Once you get this printer working, it’s great. Fast printing, cheap consumables, windows certified drivers (if you need them) and decent mobile software. If windows, good label software with templates. The issue is that the OEM software is at best finicky, and at worst might contain malware through updates (as reported by another reviewer). The webpage to download the OEM software is odd, and you are directed to download the driver there because it isn't available through Windows. When I saw the IDPRT driver download page, I got those spidey prickles that all was not as it should be. Why to many different drivers for the same model? Why is the software a zip file of a zip file? I only know of one reason to do this. Wasn’t comfortable installing that even on a test machine. Found one IDPRT driver which was WIndows certified, but labels printed vertically and not horizontally. Just bad software. I figured I could probably make it work with trying different settings, etc. And I wanted to because this bad boy prints FAST! I mean, super fast! And since I can buy any thermal paper/labels/stickers, its CHEAP to use! Just what I like. (Looking at you HP.) Then a breakthough. I found a PCMAG review for this printer. Yea, turns out, not just me, …..and everyone else on Amazon. Except, unlike me, this PCMAG reviewer found a company called Seagull Scientific which provides supply chain software to global companies. And, guess what? Seagull has windows print drivers for 100’s of IDPRT printers, a free mobile app, a free windows labeling app and a bunch of other goodies as well. So read the PCMAG review and just follow the install instructions there if you are on Windows or Mobile, Ignore all instructions from IDPRT. I LOVE this printer. I recommend it. Now going to buy more labels because I am busy labeling everything….. ... show more

  • Not compatible with mac
Very disappointing - despite saying it was compatible with Macs, , it was not compatible with my Mac system.

  • Great print quality, conflicting instructions, quite a bit of "try it and see" required
Color: Black
I have opinions about this iDPRT Label Maker! Note: I will use it mainly to make stickers for stationary / snail mail. Pros: * The print quality is so good, with crisp, clean lines. I can't wait to put my own artwork on stickers. * The printer is so fast. You could sneeze while you hit print, and your print will emerge before you open your eyes. * The printer is quiet. Amazing. * I personally like the sleek black outside, tho it's kinda big IMO (check product specs). * Everything connected via bluetooth (iPhone) easily, once I got the correct printer name (see below). Cons: * The instructions on the Quick Start document tell you a different printer name to search for when you're connecting via bluetooth than the full instruction document says. I had hoped to have a QUICK START using the Quick Start Guide but had to reference the full instruction document to connect successfully. * The included labels don't have any indication of size. So when you get into the app and make your first label, the default size is not the size of the sample labels. You could find a ruler, pop open the lid, and measure yourself, but I wanted to get printing ASAP. Would be nice if the sample labels came preprinted with one label telling you dimensions, specs, how to order more, etc. * I would like to eventually make round and square stickers and this printer doesn't have any standard sticker sizes. It says the inner core of your sticker roll must be between 1-1.5 inches diameter, and max outside diameter is 5 inches. Now I have to find a sticker I like and read all the way down the product description to make sure they meet those three size requirements. I'm assuming there's at least one standard size, like with pocket thermal printers they'll say "compatible with any T02 printer paper" or whatever. * The status light was red for a long long time. After consulting the full instructions to figure out why, I still could not troubleshoot it correctly. Turns out that I had not snapped the lid on after inserting the sample labels. So don't be too precious with this printer I guess. Summary: The iDPRT Label Maker does a solid job, once you play around with settings and supplies. ... show more

  • Very neat, solid printer for labels
Color: White
This is a very solid, well made printer, it's a bit bigger than many thermal printer models so you'll need to make more desk space. But you can tell it's a hefty frame that will last a lot of work. It came with a CD, so you don't need to download a driver online, though the instructions did say where you can if you want to. Once the software was setup, this began to print very cleanly and quickly. You can even adjust the printing speeds, though it's pretty fast that I don't know if you'd need it faster. Maybe for very big businesses. This should have no problem keeping up with those, and for small businesses, more than sufficient. It came with a roll of labels so you can test it out, but as it's a small sample, you'll need to have your own on hand. Luckily I did, and was pleased to be able to use them finally. The print quality is good, and you'll have professional looking labels. ... show more
