This chainsaw is perfect, if you don't ask too much from it. We have a Stihl chainsaw for limbing and falling trees around our 1 acre property, but it's tedious to break out the big boy for little jobs. We originally got this as a joke for my sister. She got a Christmas tree permit and we cut down a 10' tree for her (with the big saw). When she got it home, it wouldn't fit through her front door and so it sat in a bucket of water on her front porch until this little pink beauty arrived. Setup and battery charging were quick and easy. My sister put on the goggles and the gloves and went to town. This compact pink wonder made quick work of the pine branches and she quickly had it scaled back and slim enough to fit through the front door. We got the tree in the tree stand, and she continued to "nip and tuck" the tree. The saw was so easy to use that I don't think she realized how much she was cutting off. By the time she was done trimming, 60% of the bulk of the tree was on the floor in the living room. The tree had been scalped! Needless to say, we are getting her a "how-to" book this Christmas on "How to Trim a Christmas Tree" along with a fun little read "The Ugly Christmas Tree". This is a great little saw that works quickly to limb up trees. The extra chains are a bonus. I'm interested to see how they will hold up to a sharpening with a round file. Keep one battery on the charger while you're working if you plan to be at it for a while. Overall, a great product for under $100. The only complaint is it gets a bit noisy when it's put under a load. Don't try to cut anything too thick or it will bog down, especially if the battery is low. And don't be like my sister and go crazy, or you won't have any branches left on your bushes/trees. ... show more

Be advised this is a real chainsaw. Smaill in size it is but the ability to cut timber with ease should be a warning that it can sever a hand, arm, or leg almost instanty. I urge you to observe, read, and follow all safety instructions. The saw should never be left with as battery installed. Certainly do not leave it where children might attempt to play with it. If you have never owned or used a chainsaw, if you are inexperienced then when you purchase this saw get instructions and advice from a person that is well experienced with the use of a chainsaw. I am experienced with all aspects of chainsaws. I am talking about chainsaws with 50'' bars. Gasoline powered chainsaws that were used for timber harvesting, or logging. Logging is probably a more familiar term. I learned from experienced people and it served me well. This Idoo saw is the real McCoy. It operates smoothly and very rapidly. The adjustments are all easy to manage. New chain installation was a snap. The saw comes well packed in an outer box. Inside the box you will find the saw in a real bonus item. There is a hard-shell case for transport and storage of the Idoo Mini. Don't be misled by the term mini, because this saw is fast and powerful...it is mighty. Along with saw, the other items in the box include two extra chains, one extra battery, one 20 Volt power inverter for charging, protective eye goggles, and a pair of work gloves that will help provide that mandatorfy firm grip on the saw at all times. I am going to reccomend for safety...a two hand hold at all times. Forget about that one handed use. From one that is experienced in the use of a chainsaw that is the first step to a serious permanent injury. That extra battery is really an appreciated bonus and certainly adds value to this nice performance package. Always remove the battery for safety sake. If not in use, remove the battery. In storage, remove the battery. If you have children put the saw in a place completely inaccessible for them. It would not be a bad idea to put the batteries in another similar place. I stress these warnings because this is a powerful chainsaw. I am impressed with the power of this saw. I had intended some video in a woodlot but the weather has be very uncooperative for the last few days. Cold, foggy frosty mornings made that impossible. However, I know good quality...and I know when something is going to be up to the task at hand. I was well impressed with my exploration of the adjustments and fort testing purposes the installation of one of those new chains. I found the safety button a good feature, a most needed feature. It must be engaged in order that the saw stay running. I will find much use for this Idol mini six inch bar chainsaw. I am giving it a BIG Five STAR Rating. This is for quality and price. A great value for your bucks. idoo, I do like you. Just remember that if you are a novice with chainsaws, seek some training from one that is well experienced. Also, keep it away from children. The media could not be loaded. Check your job application first... for it's size class....Recommended. This mini chainsaw is a powerful and very sharp tool, requiring careful handling due to its "friskiness". This is a real tool, so use proper chainsaw techniques to avoid problems. In addition to the overall good quality, the built in tool-less adjustments rock! There’s a thumb wheel for adjusting blade tension, (not common yet on all chainsaws), and a knob that facilitates quick chain changes. It's light, nicely balanced, and sit's upright on a bench. If you are looking for a quick fix... It’s likely ideal for immediate use... as both batteries (at least in my case) came fully charged and the blade was sharp and well fitted to start (don't forget to check tension as you use it). The only initial action I’d recommend is applying spray oil to the chain, since there’s no built-in oiler or included oil that I saw.... and Spray oiling between jobs should help prolong the chain/bar's life and keep it moving nicely. The chain seemed finely made and razor sharp (careful!), and the inclusion of two (in addition to the installed) spare chains was thoughtful! The batteries, while not the highest quality by cordless tool standards, seem sufficient for the task. The small trickle charger is marked UL and features a useful green / red indicator light (I am sure it's slow, but who cares with two batts). The included case is handy for tidy storage, appealing to weekend warriors or those who like organized garages, though some might find it toss-able. The provided gloves and safety glasses are a nice touch, but their low quality renders them almost useless. It excels at cutting through limbs (ones you can reach); akin to a hot knife through butter, especially evident when tackling walnut tree shoots. And a note for toolie's... chainsaws are not just for yard work; they can be highly useful for demolition, carpentry, plunge cutting, and working with thick lumber like timber beams in deck building-- your imagination is the limit.. Its design favors one-handed use, as it lacks a second handle, making two-handed use awkward and riskier. The saw can be jumpy depending on the material. The guard, although it may hinder some operations, is highly functional and adds safety. This mini chainsaw is a well-made and highly functional, tons of value. It’s suitable for a variety of tasks around the yard.. but may be overkill for small jobs, where a loper might be safer. While I didn’t formally test the battery life, the battery remained fully charged even after a significant amount of use on a demanding task. Given that two batteries are included, this should provide adequate run time for most moderate yard tasks (by rotating batteries). ... show more
