My dog is a major puller, he's only 25ish pounds, but he can pull hard sometimes. I guess I just wanted something to keep him safe. I bought the Small and fits perfect. I had to adjust a bit here and there. My dog has a weird body, big chest/rib cage and skinny waist, so other harnesses he could slip out of. This, I can clip him on the front and he will not pull very much plus he can't slip out of it, and it doesn't make him walk sideways. It is SECURE, my main issue, with 6 different clips. It did loosen up in the front chest area, but I figured out how to secure it. I did have to cut straps because they were long and hung (but they fray, so I may need to cauterize them). The color is to be desired, my little cute cocker spaniel doesn't need a desert military looking combat type vest, but I bought for the safety of him not slipping out when he pulls. It is SAFE. It is cushioned plenty. He HATES harnesses, and doesn't mind this. It's easy to get on and off. I like the handle when he is reactive to other dogs, I can hold him safely and make him sit. It is long enough, but he can still urinate. It doesn't slip around. I can clip it on the back as well. Not sure why there's a clip near the rear of dog (?). Loops to clip on are metal not plastic, yeah! Overall, pretty awesome, best one I've bought so far! I had bought a non-pulling cheesy orange China made one before and he could slip out of it, it fit weird and was cheap in materials. I was surprised how heavy duty this is for the price. It is heavier, seems almost weighted. I really like it. the velcro...I plan on getting some name tags or something for him, very cool. I can't think of anything I would do or add/or change EXCEPT, like some cute colors. ... show more

I ordered 3 of these. I kept the 2 I purchased for my female dogs and returned the 1 that I bought for my male dog. They were purchased for my 8, 9 and 16 pound dogs because we are moving into a new area and I wanted to make sure the dogs had some protection if they were attacked by aggressive dogs. I love them. I call them my girls body armor and like most of us, the girls aren't super excited to climb into their corset but once in they seem to move well and be comfortable. The harness comes with tons of straps which help you customize fit pretty much perfectly. They are extra long and I had to trim them all. A great problem to have when things like this are often skimped on. The one negative in this area was the fit on my male. The way the harness rode if he ever went outside he would surely pee all over it. Ick. Perhaps it would not be an issue with a larger dog but with a small dog it was a straight up no go. Thus the 4 not 5 star rating. The front metal clasps are fabulous and the girth clasps, which aren't metal (to bad because the metal clasps are awesome) have locks on them. They are probably overkill for my munchkins but having had a small dog attacked by a large one before, these make me feel confident my girls are safe. And if they aren't, the handle on the back means I certainly can come to their aid in an instant. Highly recommend. ... show more

Very sturdy and secure. My 16 pound Schipperke is a handful of energy and very strong for her size. She has pulled so hard on the D-rings of other harnesses that they have almost ripped out of the fabric. This product is more heavy duty and the triangular leash hardware is really capable of holding a much bigger dog. She also seems more secure in this harness, since it wraps around her almost neck to tail, protecting her should another bigger dog attack. See pics. ... show more

My third Beagle lives up to the Beagle rep way more than my first two, meaning if she gets loose you will not catch her for hours as she follows her nose. We camp a lot in a trailer so we are at times in the middle of nowhere, not where you want to lose a Beagle. She is an escape artist. She turns to fact you and pulls which will slip a dog collar unless you have it so cinched down she is choking. A regular harness does the same thing, she stiffens her legs and the harness will slip right off. This one, unlike a standard harness, has two buckles and can be adjusted further back so it can be tightened better and not rub against her legs as the strap of a standard harnes does to try and keep it tight enough. ... show more

I bought a small one for our dog. My husband loves her but said our poofy white dog is a frou-frou dog. So I figured I would buy her a tactical vest harness so she could look more military for when he walks her at night. It fits great. It is quality made. The material has good thickness to it which I like; we live in a rural area so if some critter ever ran up to grab her I think the material will help protect her and the strong handle will support grabbing her to get her out of the way. And the Velcro on the sides are cool for building some of those patches, that I also bought. So if you like the look of this, you can be assured it is made really well. ... show more

I love this harness. When Mickey had to have knee surgery I was immediately faced with the question, How was I going to be sure he does not fall or trip on anything? Well the Icefang harness definitely helped with those questions and even solved a few more. Vest is simple to assemble and adjust. This vest is slightly heavier than some but is good for my dog as she likes both the weight and snug fit to act much like a thunder shirt to keep her comfortable and calm in stressful situations. Easy to clean, stays snug on dog. The double underbelly clamps make picking up easier and comfortable for the dog. Incredible product. I couldn’t believe the quality of the design and the sturdiness. It feels like military equipment. I had to return it because it was too much for my pug.
