Description

Don’t be fooled into thinking the Ibanez GSR Micro is a toy. It’s made to the same high standards of the other GIO series guitars. The GSRM20B features, small scale SR body, full sound pickups, the same construction, same materials, and same set-up and inspection as its full size counterparts. Its shorter 28. 6” scale makes it perfect for tour buses, space-restricted home studios, folks with smaller hands, as well as young rockers or beginners.

  • This really surprised me!
Color: Walnut Pattern: Bass Guitar
I have been playing a Squire Classic Vibes Mustang bass & always wanted to try one of these out. The sound really impressed me. It had way more definition than my Mustang bass & more versatility. The 28.6” scale length took a little getting used to because your arm doesn’t stretch out but once I got used to it, it became more comfortable. I recommend purchasing the Ibanez Mikro bass soft case. It’s nicer than my more expense Fender case and has 2 more pockets. I really like the walnut finish because it doesn’t attract finger prints. It’s very light with very little to no neck-dive The only CON I had was the bass being noisy. If you live in a home that has interference, you will hear noise. All I did was shielded it using copper shield tape found here on Amazon and I lined both pickup cavities and the control cavity and I soldered a wire from the P-bass cavity to the J cavity and from there to the 1st volume pot and it’s nearly completely silent. I know my home is noisy because my Mustang not the Mikro made noise at 2 different music stores before shielding. ... show more

  • Sounds great when I play it right
Color: Walnut Pattern: Bass Guitar
I'm a beginner bassist so I never owned a bass before. To me, the bass feels right size and weight wise, it is easy to handle and to play on. I used it with a small Fender amp speaker at home for practice and it was great and later on stage when plugged in to better sound system, it sounded fantastic. All wood body which gave it a nice build quality and I just love how this looks. I'm sure there are better basses out there in the wild but this one felt great for a first time bassist like myself. ... show more

  • Totally stoked on this!
Color: Brown Sunburst Pattern: Bass Guitar
I wanted a "cheap", decent bass to add tracks to some songwriting projects, but I'm not a bassist and had no clue what to get. So I read up the reviews and after a lot of research I chose this one based mainly on it's scale length and price. I'm 5'6" and this fits me really well, especially the span between frets. It is head heavy when playing while sitting down, so when I lift my arm off the body to grab a drink or use the mouse, the head wants to drop down to the floor. The body is on the thin side so it can also tend to want to slip out from under my arm when I'm not playing. Neither are an issue when actively playing :-) I love the tuners on this cheap bass, they hold better than my $500 guitar. I love the fit and finish on this cheap bass, as good as some really expensive models I tried in the store. I love the sound (especially the bridge pickup) of this cheap bass, although I'm not a bass aficionado. I love the fact that this cheap bass is from a respected instrument brand, Ibanez makes some serious gear. I love the color of this cheap bass, a nice tobacco burst without any gloops, glops, or blotches. And, I love the price of this cheap bass. ... show more

  • Great for the price!
Color: Walnut Pattern: Bass Guitar
I needed a good short scale bass without spending huge dough. I loved the look of the black hardware with the mahogany body, so I went with that model. When it arrived, I was very pleased with the packaging, and very surprised with the overall appearance of the guitar. The finish was much better than the pics shown for the ads. More of a reddish tent and smoother. That flat finish along with the black hardware is awesome. When playing the guitar at first with tuning (but without setting the strings), the sound was great! For a $200 guitar, you really can't go wrong! Can't wait to get it set just right, and jam some more! This guitar works great for me because I don't have the longer fingers to play a full scale bass guitar. For shorter fingers or for kids starting out... it's perfect!!! The only reason I gave it 4 stars, was because there is a couple of rough feel areas on the finish. Not noticeable to the eye, but to the feel of the overall surface. Slightly rough in a couple of spots. ... show more

  • Worth every penny
Color: Walnut Pattern: Bass Guitar
Bought this little feller for a Church group we are part of. Since I'm short myself, and been a 6 string rhythm guitarist for 45 years, I figured the short scale would be more intuitive when I needed to switch to bass. That has worked to a "tee". Now on to the Mikro itself. The wood is gorgeous albeit kind of plain. The tuners have kept tune perfectly since the bass arrived. Kind of standard looking bridge and knows, but handsome in its' simplicity. This little bass makes my Cr8 BX50 sound as good as it possibly can. The pickups sound really good for an entry level bass, and the "roll off" from both the volume and tone sound fairly linear as you back off or crank it up. Five stars for the bass and five more for the seller. ... show more

  • I wish my amp didn't break, because I love this thing.
Color: Walnut Pattern: Bass Guitar
I got the walnut color, and while it doesn't have the burnt edge look from the product photo. it is... Just absolutely amazing. This is my first ever bass, and when I got it, it was so amazing, I tuned it, got it plugged in, and fell in love with the deep sounds and muted yet powerful tones. Then... My amp died on me. the wires became ungrounded, and static was running through the entire amp. 2 days into using my bass, and I can't use an amp until the amp I ordered with another product arrives. but, I love this bass, it sounds good even without an amp. Just makes it harder to practice with online lessons without an amp. if I end up getting a new job, and get enough to afford another instrument, the ibanez gsrm200 series is my next purchase, because it's the full scale bass of this micro bass. It had no right to be as good as it is for only $200 plus shipping. I highly recommend this bass, because I freaking love this thing. ... show more
