  • Great RC, Excellent price!
I recently purchased the 3 cell battery version of the H14BM (which is larger than 1/16th scale models) for my son for Christmas. This truck arrived 100% as shown in the description, with everything that was shown in the pictures, and let me tell you...THIS BULLET IS FAST, and it runs great even in grass. If you haven't already, search YouTube videos of the 'Hyper Go' line in action, there are several out there. (I have seen this thing fly across a pond, on top of the water) The option I chose included two 2,000mah 3cell li-po batteries ( in protective hard shell cases). It also came with two chargers, the remote, a handfull of spare body and chassis parts, two body shells, spare shock springs, extra set of mud/snow tires, the wheelie bar (which is essential in high speed mode lol) metal frame plate, cooling fans installed on both the ESC and Motor/heat sink, really nice strong metal axles on all 4 wheels, dual bearings on each wheel, waterproof enclosure that holds the receiver, adjustable coil over shocks, and more. The battery area does have additional room to strap down a larger capacity battery if you have one and want to run your own, or buy one for longer run time. The remote has an extra 3rd channel/button to turn on/off the front led lights, which you could add more to if you wanted to. My son is only 7, he is rough with this, but it takes a beating and rolls on. We have both driven it and it is blazing fast, especially when you unlock the esc from its factory setting (5 quick button pushes on the power button). You can drive it in 70% mode using the switch on the remote if you need to keep it more tame in congested areas, so you have 3 options for speed, 70%, 100%, and the faster more powerful unlocked 100%. We have flipped, rolled, tumbled, smashed, and accidentally launched this thing countless times and it just keeps going. There are two things I would have liked to see with this truck, some spare hardware included (screws if you do need to make a repair, or lose one) as it doesn't come with any for chassis parts. I understand extra parts being included effects the low price point, but I personally would have paid a little more just to have spare screws added to the box, as ordering them separately when one breaks, or gets lost can be time consuming and does add up if you want an extras. Other than that, it would have been great to have either a dial or switch control on the remote, or maybe even built in to the ESC programming to add expo to the steering sensitivity with throttle. The steering is too sensitive at high speeds and an expo/rate control would have been really handy. Hopefully this can be added to future models, even if it is automatically mixed into the programming of the steering. An expo rate curve, or even a flat rate would make this thing PERFECT! Overall I searched high and low for the perfect RC for my son, and I needed something that would handle a child's torture, and this truck does that very well. There are replacement parts available now for this including all the electronic components, and even metal upgrade parts, which look really flashy. When I needed a screw that we broke by plowing into the garage at a high speed, I reached out to customer service before searching and they replied quickly. I was informed that they are in the process of building a new comprehensive site for parts currently, in addition to the various sites like Amazon, Ebay, and Ali Express that already carry parts for this now. Overall, this is an amazing deal for the price, and there really isn't anything comparable out there that is this solid at this price point. My opinion is, if you are looking for a 4WD truck that is capable of handling accidents, bashing, and puddles, you likely won't find a better deal than this model. They did an amazing job with this truck! I honestly don't feel like there is a better "ready to run", out of the box RC truck out there for under $200 like the 'Hyper Go' line and I will buy another one if I need a great gift for someone else. ... show more

  • A very interesting and unique car
I bought this car during prime day at $170. I waited for that sale because I thought $200 was just not justified based on the issues other people have reported with this rig. My experience justifies that thinking. Let’s me start with the cons: First, the steering linkages both broke within 3 minutes of driving. I didn’t do anything crazy, just drove it from the grass, off the curb, to the street. It nose-dived and broke both plastic-ended linkages where they connect to the steering rack. It comes with a slew of spare parts. But I felt that was way too early to be breaking parts. Part of this is due to the amount of suspension travel. At full compression, the link is at an extreme angle from the ball. That puts a lot of stress on a plastic end. If they don’t break on you, they will at least constantly pop off. I remedied this by adding a plastic washer under the screw head. The bad part is this limits the flexibility of that joint, thus limiting suspension travel on the front end. Not such a bad thing for this rig. Secondly, the fans on this thing are comically slow. I feel like they added them just to have the claim that they come with fans. But they are slower than a PC fan. They will not do much for cooling. I immediately upgraded to Yeah Racing Tornado fans. World of difference! Thirdly, as expected, the radio is trash. The delay is so bad, it will take you two battery packs of running to learn to anticipate that delay. I couldn’t wait that long, and knew of this weakness, so I immediately upgraded to a Radiolink. Be advised, if you want to keep the stock water resistant radio box, the RC6GS will not fit. I had to return that for the RC4FGM. These receivers have gyro, which helps tame this car immensely. It makes the steering a little more controllable when getting up to speed. And lastly, this one may not be a con for you, but it’s the controllability of this rig. It is way overpowered for its size, and the tires are too grippy on pavement, so this thing walks left and right while trying to get up to full speed. Again, that could be a pro or a con for you because it relates to the power/speed of this rig. It’s part of the appeal, actually. Edit to add: Part of the squirreliness of this car is due to the rear suspension geometry. The plastic shock towers are too flexible, and when they flex, the angles of the wheels change, which makes for a somewhat unpredictable driving experience. The rear shocks are too long, so the rear arms have way more travel than the front. (Very deceiving product picture shows the car sitting level. It does not. The rear sits too high) This causes the car to not be able to put down power effectively or corner in a stable manner. This can be helped by putting a front set of shocks on the rear to squat it. Now for the pros: Again, power and speed! This car easily does 45 mph straight out of the box with the supplied 3s 2000mah batteries. That’s my eyeball guess as I didn’t have a gps. If you like to do speed runs, this car will be a great addition to your collection! Secondly, the build quality is generally pretty good. A lot of “upgrades” for this class of car are already installed. I love the fact that it had a stand alone receiver. I knew I wanted to put a Radiolink in it immediately. The metal chassis seems stout, the drivetrain is beefy! Some aluminum parts in the steering. Finally, customer service. I notified HyperGo of my failed steering linkages, and they agreed to ship me two more right away. That right there can make or break your decision to buy a car like this. Especially since these Chinese RC companies don’t have the parts support that the big name brands have. Knowing that they have your back feels great! Overall, as an experienced RC enthusiast, I would say this car is fun. The wild, almost uncontrollable nature of it is part of the appeal. But it’s definitely not for beginners, at least not on the high speed mode. It shines off road. It can soak up bumps that larger 1/10 rigs can. The suspension is very plush. It does come with a set of stiffer springs, which I swapped right away. I will also change the shock oil because they are set at full rebound from factory. It is a mixed bag. It does some things poorly, like road driving, but it does others very well, like speed, off-road performance, and durability. And it’s just a neat looking rig! The red accents on the second body are beautiful! The pictures don’t do it justice. It’s like a candy-apple red. The color really pops! If you enjoy wrenching on and modifying rigs, this car will be a great addition to your collection, and bring you smiles for miles! Edit to add: I got a set of brass 12mm hex extenders. That widened the stance just enough to make it handle way better! I highly recommend hex extensions! Also, after a little bashing, the hard case on one of my battery packs came open. Curious, I looked inside and pulled out the battery. It’s a 3 cell lithium ion. Hence the strange, square shape to the case. Not necessarily a bad thing. You get more run time out of L-ion batteries, but more power out of LiPos. I ran it with a 3s Lipo and got a little more pep out of the rig. Final edit to add: After an intense bash, I seemed to have tweaked the chassis just enough to make the steering posts go out of alignment. Now my steering rack binds up in the middle. The servo cannot center. Also, the throttle has a very noticeable delay, which did not go away with a new receiver, so it must be the esc not delivering power very smoothly. With all the issues I’ve encountered with this rig, and the money sunk into it to make it somewhat drivable, I honestly cannot recommend it. It is too much trouble to be worth owning, in my opinion. I wish I would have got the HBX 2997a for the same price or spent a little more and got the Omni-Terminator. Both ... show more
