TLDR: The design of siphon is absolutely brilliant! I highly recommend it! I have a Fluval Edge 12 gallon, and it really shouldn't have been sold without this siphon included in the box. Up until now it has been impossible to properly clean the gravel. Thanks to the slim design I can finally reach the gravel in the corners of the tank without disrupting all of my aquascaping. The ball pump is very effective and starting up the flow and it also serves as handle. The extension tubes give you reach but also allows this to be stored away in a drawer. The hose is more than long enough to reach from the top of a tall tank and down into a bucket on the floor. The filter design is great for preventing sucking out gravel and small fish. The included flow clip slows down the suction and the hose is supple enough to gently squeeze it to do a proper vacuuming of detritus. These people thought of everything! This pump is so easy to put together. I was concerned it wouldn't do much and be a waste of money. I was wrong! It's fantastic! Super easy to use, sucked out quite a bit of debris, and helped with reducing water for the water change without using cups or other items. I’ve been looking for a good siphon with a hand pump for my 10 gallon planted tank that wouldn’t take too much water out too quickly, yet also adequately remove debris. Opened it, gave it a quick rinse, and within 15 minutes I completed a 30% water change and got the gravel spotless. Didn’t have to look at instructions, as it was incredibly easy to assemble. They even include an extra attachment which is flat so you can flatten the gravel while you’re cleaning it, and extra clips for the tube to attach to a tank rim or bucket. My one drawback is overall item build quality. While it performs exactly how I wanted it to, the material of the squeeze pump is extremely cheap in feel, so I’m concerned that piece might break. This is perfect for my cleaning dirty water, leaves, and silt out of my 3-tiered barrel fountain. No living creatures or gravel to worry about so I took the filter out. My neighbors oak trees have been creating havoc by dropping all kinds of stuff into my fountain, thus clogging the pump and yellowing the water. I bought this simple pump to empty most of the dirty water so I could skim out the gunk. A few squeezes of the bulb and the water began to drain. I had to clean debris a few times and flush out the pump, but I was able to continue. I’m allergic to fish. Any product that can help me get the job done without needing to come in contact with my fishy is golden. (Pun intended) This is the 2 buck chuck of water changers. I’ve gone through three of them (pricey ones) and none work as quickly or efficiently as this one. I have a 5 gal tank sitting on an upright piano and the height is perfect for the siphon. Didn’t have to snip the cord or anything, it perfectly curls into a white designated bucket. I was also afraid that it would drain too quickly and put my little Clyde in jeopardy but NO! He’s a dirty little thing- this Picks up all the junk while sucking out water at a good pace. After I’m done, I dump the dirty water onto the grass and give it a little rinse with the water hose and sifón that it out again to get the gunk out, before letting it air dry for a minute. So easy y’all. Idk why I couldn’t upload a picture I previously took of the product with the bucket but I uploaded one of my tank for reference.
