No more lugging buckets and breaking my back. I have 9 fish tanks, and doing water changes and general tank maintenance would take several hours and could be super messy. I bought this water changing system, but I was a bit skeptical. It sounded too good to be true. Boy I was WRONG! I bought a male/female hose adapter, so I could connect it to my water hose outside and water my outdoor plants with tank water and not put all of the water into my septic tank. It works fantastically! Water changes and substrate cleaning has never been easier or faster! I vacuum out all of the tanks then with a turn of the valves I quickly refill the tanks. Gone are the days of repeatedly lugging 5 gallon buckets of water to empty and refill my numerous tanks. 5 stars all the way. I have used tis multiple times. I use this with a water bandit as it doesn't fit my unique sink. Makes water changes 50% faster and easier. I will never miss carrying around buckets of water again. My only complaint is that my water pressure is not strong enough to start the siphon so I have to manually do that. Other wise there are 0 issues ... show more

I had to use all of the adapters to attach to a vanity sink in the basement near the fishtank. I turned the water on low not knowing what to expect. I could hear suction at the intake. It was slow, too slow. I turned up the water. Turned it up again. It was finally moving at a good clip, but not as fast as a plain suction tube into a bucket. The tank is a higher than the sink, so that should help I'd think? Works OK though, just have to plan on a little more time than I used too when cleaning the tank. ... show more

    • Test it FIRST BEFORE using in your fish tank.

Vacuuming for 1st use was a disaster. I wish I had taken photos to share here, but didn't. 1. I put all fittings on hand tight, as to not overly tighten. Connections fit nicely!! I followed directions and wish there was a notation for each step for trouble shooting and provided more details. The tube took about 10 minutes to fill because the fitting leaked a lot. I put a cloth over the faucet to absorb the leaking water so it wouldn't spray out all over. The cloth did the trick. 2. The vacuum tube to suck out debris instead,pumped ice cold water into my 10 gallon tank and overflowed it. Unfortunately I didn't notice this right away. 3. The water temperature then dropped about 10 degrees in tank. I immediately shut water off at faucet. To bring temp back up in the tank I manually took out about 3 gallons of water from the tank. I then gradually put back the 3 gallons of hot water to bring back up to temperature. 3. Clean up after overflow was a pain. I will monitor my 10 fish for next few days then I'll clean tank with bucket and small vacuum. I loved the idea of this as I was planning to go up to a 20 gallon tank, but thought I'd try it first on the 10 gal tank. I'm glad I did. I'm at a loss to figure how it failed.. Any feedback from manufacturer would be greatly appreciated. ... show more

    • Convenient, but doesn’t “work” for vacuuming, also very slow

The product is super convenient for sure, no doubt about that. But it’s super slow. I start the water to get the syphon started, but I do turn it off because I’m not going to keep the water running while I drain my 75 gallon for about a 35-40% water change. So it’s low. On top of that, it doesn’t create enough “suction” to actually vacuum anything out. Particles and trash just float around in the tube. I even added a 396gph pump to try and help with the suction power to no avail. That’s if I was to try to vacuum something. If I use the pump to just take the water out (so without the hose and tube on the intake part) then performance is improved. Even adding the vacuum attachment doesn’t help with the suction power. ... show more
