I've been through several of the flexible expanding hoses. None of them held up, despite the sometimes over inflated price I paid. This hose, by contrast, is excellent. It is flexible and expands to the 50 feet (not that I really needed that much, but it's good to have) and it contracts almost immediately when the water is turned off. Problems: 1. The hose leaked at the connection to the spigot. Had that been the only problem I might have kept it. 2. Plastic cover on the other end cracked within the first few uses. 3. Too short! The planter on our garage is 47 feet from the water spigot. My last expandable 50 ft hose reached it with no problem. I had to tug this hose A LOT and I could still only get 3 feet away. Enough so that I decided to measure it (water pressure full blast and hose nozzle turned off). I measured twice and found that even at full expansion the hose's length was 45 feet. Perhaps it might stretch out with more use, but I don't care to tug and pull a hose like a petulant child in order to water the flowers. It's also hard to keep it expanded AND have any sort of water pressure. I expect some shrinkage when the water is at full force, but not this much. ... show more

I love the expandable hoses as they are lightweight and easy to move around. However, I have the the regular ones and they have all burst eventually and still cost around $30. Thought I would try a non-burstable one. We shall see.

    • I really liked this hose, until it exploded.

Had this attached to my backyard spigot for a month and a half or so. Used it maybe 6 times. Today I got the runaround from the seller trying to get a refund, so zero stars for customer service as well. This SEEMED to be exactly what I wanted, light, took up only a little room, had a valve on the end to turn it on and off instead of at the spigot if you needed to do a bunch of things with it in an afternoon. Sadly, today, I was cleaning a filter, turned it on and off a couple times, put it next to me, heard a loud bang, to find the plastic collar at the front had basically exploded, and the interior hose had rolled backwards and was spraying water all over. Good idea, terrible execution, awful runaround after the fact, essentially useless warranty. ... show more

I like that this hose is expandable yet durable. There is a warranty on the hose so hopefully it lasts longer than the pocket hose I had which developed a leak after 2 years.

Hose lasts 4 months: Jun, Jul, Aug, and Sept. Popped a hole in the last third part of Hose. Drained and packed but need to discard. This Hose doesn't have durability. It is not retractable. We used as the first part 2 2-50 ft hoses. The other brand? was better. 2 or 3 seasons in NE is expected. @$35-40 ÷ 4 month= $$ per month. Old school would be 5 to 10 yrs. :^}E} Grrr! Ah well.... ... show more
