Description

Husqvarna unisex adult 36-38 In. Orange/Gray Tech. Technical Chaps, Orange, 36 to 38-Inch US Husqvarna chain saw protective chaps contain PVC coated denier polyester with Tek warp protective layers designed to reduce the risk or severity of an injury, and give the operator extra reaction time when contact is made by a moving chain. The cut retardant material is designed to "pull" apart and clog up the sprocket system of the chain saw and slow or stop the chain from rotating depending on the speed of the chain, length, angle of contact, and power of the saw. Protective chaps should never be considered safer than proper chain saw handling safety procedures. Husqvarna chaps also feature adjustable waist sizes, acetyl Delran buckles, pockets for gear, and are cold water washable. • Best Chainsaw Chaps!
Style: 38 in. Black/Gray Pattern Name: Chaps
I'm glad I purchased Husqvarna chaps instead of the several other popular chap brands! These chaps are somewhat light, very comfortable and can be easily put on and taken off. I usually purchase Oregon products, however after reading some reviews, I opted for the slightly more expensive Husqvarna chaps. And, am I glad I spent a few more dollars this time! 1) Easy to use large plastic buckles with nice large straps, very easy to put on and take off! 2) Very comfortable, even with the many tools I wear on my belt! 3) Includes a thigh "functional" pocket for a scrench or multiple screnches (eg. chainsaw screwdriver/wrench tool), and the scrench can be easily removed from the bottom of the pocket with snap enclosures, if wearing gloves. 4) Readily folds-up, and likely small enough for storing inside a chainsaw case. 5) Have yet to have any failure with the product. There's a second benefit towards wearing chaps, if you fall, the additional material readily absorbs more impact from the fall. So I feel like a clown while wearing these, when falling over twigs and logs! 6) Unlike a lot of products these days, Husqvarna engineered and designed these chaps really well, with the proper materials and within an affordable price range. TIP: Size, I would say the 36-38 inch size is similar to anybody within the medium size range. I'm usually a medium in both shirts/pants, and would say this size of chaps provides an exceptional area of safety coverage. TIP: When tripping/falling while wearing chaps, probably best just to roll with the fall, like a clown does rather than fighting the fall and possibly twist or breaking something. ... show more

  • Great quality!
Style: 36-38 In. Orange/Gray Tech. Pattern Name: Chaps
These Husqvarna chainsaw chaps are the best that I have ever used. It is so obvious that they are made from high quality materials and the workmanship is first class. I have used chaps from several different manufacturers over the years and these are by far my favorites. I wear a size 36x32 pants and these chaps are a good fit. I like the way they wrap around and protect the calves as well as the fronts of your legs. They have a handy pocket on the front that works great for holding a couple of wedges or saw wrenches. Not only functional but also very good looking chaps. ... show more

  • Pro Grade Quality & Comment on Size
Style: 36-38 In. Orange/Gray Tech. Pattern Name: Chaps
First let me say these are serious professional grade protective chaps. All the material is high quality including the straps and fasteners around the waist and leg. I like that there are four straps that go around each leg, One at the thigh (which you cannot see in the picture) and three below the knee. This is important for comfort and safety because it allows you to adjust the size for a propper fit and it prevents the chaps from being loose and flapping around, which is not only uncomfortable but also dangerous because you could trip. Additionally, these pants are heavy so poorly fitted heavy chaps that flops around would add to fatigue while working. Second, a comment on sizing. The measurements 36-38" and 40-42" pertain to the measurement from your waist to your ankle. This is not an inseam measure like for jeans. Everyone is shaped different so take your waist to ankle measurement to be sure. I'm 5'8" and waist to ankle I measure 37", the 36-38" size fits perfect. Rule of thumb is if your jeans inseam is 31" or less, go for the 36-38". Otherwise go for the the 40-42". Note, if the chaps are a little long you can cuff them under to shorten it and the bottom strap on the leg will hold the cuff in place (another great feature about these chaps). Waist measurement is nearly irrelevant, the waist strap is plenty big. Lastly, these chaps are excellent quality for the money. I was surprised how high quality they were. Don't go cheap, chaps are one of the most important pieces of protective gear you need. Most common chainsaw injuries are to the leg. Jeans will not protect you at all, they are like tissue paper to a chainsaw. ... show more

  • Better than Stihl chaps, for the same price.
Style: 40-42 In. Orange/Gray Tech. Pattern Name: Chaps
I got these to replace my old, basic Stihl chainsaw chaps that I lightly nicked the knee of. It was my fault, and they did their job. I barely grazed the knee, but it ripped all the kevlar out, clogged my saw up, and now I need a new set. Anyway, these looked good, and I liked the wrap around calf for extra protection. Sizing was weird to figure out but eventually with the help of other reviews I got the 40-42" size. I wear 32" inseam pants, and this was the right size for the chaps. They rest on the tops of my feet, which is about as long as they could possibly be without getting under my heel and being annoying. I've worn them for maybe 15 hours of cutting at this point and they are working just fine. The wrap around calf is a bit more fiddly to put on than my old chaps, and is definitely a little hotter in summer, but I think the extra protection these provide is worth it. In general they fit as well as other chaps I've used, and they have a roll up waist to height adjust if you need. They have a weird, bottom-opening wedge pocket on the left leg which on me falls at knee height, too low to be handy, too awkward to use. If you need a wedge handy, this is not the answer, you should just get a belt pouch like everyone since the dawn of chainsaws. I like the reflecto-stripe on the legs, it's a nice touch. These appear to be well made, are reasonably comfortable (for kevlar snow pants), and are a better value than many other name brand chaps. I hope to never test them out, but they have more kevlar layers in them than the bargain chaps so that gives me some piece of mind. ... show more

  • Comfortable and easy to put on.
Style: 40-42 In. Black/Gray Pattern Name: Chaps
After a near miss, I decided chaps might be a good idea. Being 6’6” tall, I ordered the longer version and they fit well. Once the straps are adjusted, they are easy on and off. They do get a little warm while working. Hopefully, I never have to review how well they stop a chain from cutting me, but I figure they can’t hurt and the peace of mind is worth the extra warmth. Seem well constructed. ... show more
