So my mask came quick and undamaged. It does use a watch battery which was nice to see because some reviews said it did not. Functionally it adjust fast. There was really no assembly at all. It is a bit flimsy but I payed 40$ for a welding mask not expecting 200$ value, just be gentle with. I have not had an issue with the adjusting wheel but I did take my time with everything after reading others concerns and issues with the design. I would say it is worth it. At first attempt to wear it my nose was in contact with the helmet like one person review said he returned his for. There is an adjustment for that also. I'm very satisfied with this purchase. *UPDATE* Within hours of posting my original review, the seller reached out to me. They informed me they have since updated the hood so it does indeed have a replaceable battery. They offered me a refund or replacement hood. Exceptional customer service. Looking forward to receiving the updated hood. Original title and review: It was great... for 2 weld sessions I was impressed with this welding hood, at this price. It features excellent suspension with plenty of adjustments. My welding respirator fit perfectly without touching or feeling like the hood was too far from my face. The side tension knobs held securely and seemed like they would last. One of the reasons I chose this hood was the claim in the Amazon description that it had a replaceable battery—something many budget-friendly options lack (unless you're up for a soldering project). Unfortunately, my experience took a turn for the worse. The hood only lasted two days of intermittent welding before it stopped functioning. I assumed the factory-installed battery was either old or low-quality and planned to replace it based on the product description. Sadly, that turned out to be inaccurate—the battery is not replaceable. It’s a real disappointment because I was otherwise satisfied with the hood.
