  • Such a GREAT Welding Mask!
Style: Black
So I'm new to welding and I had an ol' hand-me-down welding helmet that I just could NOT see through. It really affected my welds. Got fed up so I decided to try these out and let me tell ya...it is a world of difference! I can clearly see, even in dark spaces under my car, and then when I start to weld...BOOM! The lens gets dark, but not too dark that I can't see my weld pool. The only thing I can say, like other reviews I've read, is the nose piece is uncomfortable. Honestly though, it's not bad enough that it doesn't deserve 5-stars. I will be recommending these to anyone and everyone I know who welds. ... show more

  • Perfect addition!
Style: Black
PERFECT! These are a must-have. These are great for plasma cutting, and spot welding. They work great, and fit well (I wear glasses and they fit over them with no problems. You should, at a minimum, order these and give them a try. If you don't like 'em, send 'em back. I think you'll keep them. Glad I found these. ... show more

  • surprisingly good
Style: Black
First off, these are not a replacement for a proper hood. However, if you are doing stuff like cages this can be very useful especially for tacking or short beads. Surprisingly good lens, coloring. I ditched the face plate and just wear the goggles. Again, this is just for very short tacks and runs where I would just be using safety squints otherwise because with a normal hood there was just not enough room. Two negatives; whoever designed the ergonomics of these goggles has never seen a human face before. They are crazy uncomfortable and poorly designed. Secondly, the controls are horribly placed and very easily self adjust if you nick anything. However, these things are absolutely worth the money and I am very happy with them. ... show more

  • Works very well!
Style: Black
I bought this knowing that I need in a tight space that a regular welding hood would not work. Fit me very well even over glasses and was very clear on viewing the welding. The only issue I had was so used to lifting my hood and I couldn't but otherwise this did very well.

  • So far so good!
Style: Black
I have a full face auto shade helmet and this goggle type shield is convenient. It is also comparable with full face sheild. I personally like the goggle itself. Light weight, easy to don and adjustments do work. I'm only a DIY welder, plasma cutter and grinder....fabricator, and no problems yet. Recommend this product for DIY fabricators. ... show more

  • A lot of really good, with a lot of really bad
Style: Black
Easily my favorite kind of welding shield, I find myself putting these on with my hard hat, and field of view is so wide and clear, I feel perfectly safe walking around the jobsite without taking them off. I like that I never have to worry about glare from behind me, obscuring my view of the work, the cutting settings a plus that I'm having a hard time finding on other goggles, I can keep smoke and dust from getting in my eyes. The bad, IF they "fixed" the nose bridge problem, there's still a ways to go. That spot can get real sore after all day welding. They tend to fog up, especially if it's cold outside, so I had to drill some holes inside the mask to keep my view clear as the winter starts up. The front lens protector? It is not sealed well at all, I'm finding myself pulling it out and cleaning the dust from it and the auto darkening glass a couple times a day, and the screen has gotten a few sparks leaving permanent burns that will ultimately result in me getting a new shield whenever the last protector screen is done. The bad sucks so bad, but the good is just so good too, it's really hard to find another shield that checks all the good boxes that this one does without all the bad that came with it. I'll probably order another one, but this time make a lot of modifications. ... show more

  • Suprised.
Style: Black
I bought this just to see if it would work for what I needed. I have to cut (acetylene) and weld (mig) in very tight quarters. I can't get a full hood up in to see. These are close to cutting goggles but much better. I can get head and shoulders in tight and still see the work. Delay, shade, sensitivity all adjustable. Setting for grind, cut, weld. Work great. I can actually see when done and take them off. Better results than I expected for the price. ... show more

  • Dangerous Due to Inadequate Shading
Style: Black
I thought this would be handy eye protection for arc welding. Unfortunately, even at the highest shade setting, it was too bright. My settings for a short test were maximum shade, maximum sensitivity, and minimum delay. The test weld was with .035 flux-cored wire and 3/16” mild steel. Even after a test of only few seconds, my eyes felt the excessive brightness. While the sensitivity and delay seemed to work okay, the lack of adequate shade prevented me from actually seeing the weld area. I then compared these goggles with my standard full welding hood, which worked fine. So, this is just not usable and in my opinion is dangerous. The manual specifies the goggles will go to shade 13, but I think it is much less and could result in eye injury. I double checked the CR2450 lithium disc battery to be sure it was putting out full voltage and it was fine. When I first received the goggles, I tried to do a test using the sun, which my other welding hoods work with. However, these goggles did not work properly in sunlight. Sometimes, it would darken and sometimes it would not. I contacted YesWelder support and was advised that these do not perform in sunlight due to ambient light issues. Next, I used a flint sparker to test the goggles and they appeared to work okay. These goggles come with a snap-on face shield. I found the shield awkward to install and remove. As received, the black silicone skirt on the goggles which provides a seal to the face and eyes was not fully installed in the recesses in the googles, so I had to fiddle with that to get the skirt properly installed. YesWelder support was helpful and responsive, but at the end of the day I am very uncomfortable with the product and would be concerned about eye injury. This is not an inexpensive product. You can purchase full automatic welding hoods that work quite well for less than the cost of these goggles. So, given all of the above, I have returned these to Amazon. The sensitivity ... show more
